Vandy Krouch vs. the Waco Kid

Vandy Krouch limps from middle position for 1,200, Jared 'Waco Kid' Hamby limps from the cutoff, and the big blind folds.

When the small blind folded, Krouch says he saw one of the cards, and it was a non-face high black card, something like the ten or eight of spades. The players ask if he's sure, and he's not 100%. The card goes into the muck with the rest.

The flop comes {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and Hamby asks Krouch, "Are you sure it was a spade and not a club? It's important."

All three players check the flop.

The turn card is the {2-Diamonds}, the big blind bets 2,200, Krouch calls, and Hamby folds.

The river card pairs the board with the {6-Spades}, the big blind checks, Krouch reaches for chips to make a bet, and the big blind folds. Vandy Krouch takes the pot, increasing his stack to about 104,000.

Todd Phillips Closing in on 250K

Todd Phillips limped in from middle position, the cutoff raised to 4,200, Phillips moved all in and the cutoff called. The turn was the {7-Clubs}, the river was the {J-Diamonds}, and Phillips dragged another huge pot.

After the hand, the "Old School" and "Road Trip" director's stack was up to nearly 250,000.

Williams On the Rise

Shirley Williams
Shirley Williams
A player in middle position made it 3,000 to go and Shirley Williams, in the cutoff, made the call as well as the big blind.

Flop: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}

All three players checked the flop and the turn brought the {3-Clubs}. Shirley led out on the turn for 5,000 and only the player in the middle position made the call. The river was the {A-Spades} and both players checked the possible flush. Shirley showed {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} while her opponent showed pocket twos. After the hand, Shirley is up to 86,000.

... Make that 300K for Todd Phillips

With the board reading {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs} on the turn, Todd Phillips bet 10,000, the button raised to 20,000 and Phillips called. The river was the {2-Hearts}. Phillips checked and the button checked behind. Phillips turned over {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for trip kings and the button mucked.

Phillips is now up to 300,000. It looks like his table and seat number (Table 77, Seat 7) has proven especially lucky for him today.
