Up at the Bar...

Milwaulke's Best Light girls at the bar
Milwaulke's Best Light girls at the bar
Overlooking the ESPN feature table is the Milwaukee's Best Light No-Limit Bar, serving cheap ice-cold beer to the spectators. They are lined up out the door to get a seat in the stands to watch Daniel Negreanu play on the table below.

Kyle Morris Takes Pot Off Negreanu

Negreanu Takes A Hit
Negreanu Takes A Hit
Kyle Morris has just take a nice pot off Daniel Negreanu at our feature table.

He raised to 5,200 from the button and Daniel called from the small blind. The flop was {8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, Daniel bet out 8,000 and Kyle called.

On the turn: {3-Hearts}. Daniel led out for 16,000 and Kyle made the call.

The river {8-Spades} slowed Daniel down and he checked. Kyle made a bet of 18,000 and Daniel went into the tank, asked Kyle a few questions, and then went back into the tank.

Kyle said to Daniel: "Throw it away, call, do SOMETHING..."

Daniel did do something, he took Kyle's first suggestion and threw it away.

One Strong Lady

Angie Italiano
Angie Italiano
Angela Italiano is a fierce competitor, and is taking no prisoners in this heavily male-dominated event. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia she has more cashes in her local area than you can “poke a stick at.” She was the number-one ranked female player in Australasia for 2006 (as awarded by PokerNetwork.com) and has already made a good showing in some of the other events being held around town this month. She currently has just under 100,000 in chips and is hoping to make her first WSOP cash.

Frightening Situation

Three of the top four players on Day 2b are Gus Hansen, Sorel "Imper1um" Mizzi, and Rain Khan. Imper1um has just been moved to Hansen and Khan's table. That fits anyone's definition of "sick." Especially the definition likely given by the other six players at that table.

Gus Hansen has millions in tournament and cash-game winnings, took down the Aussie Millions, and plays in the highest-stakes online cash games. Imper1um has been ranked #1 by online poker sites for his incredible online tournament feats. Rain Khan is the dark horse with a name that sounds like he belongs in "Mortal Kombat."

Keep checking for more updates, as this promises to be a clash of titans.
