Bill Edler Avoids Disaster Against Jim McCrink

Bill Edler, Bracelet Winner in Event #45
Bill Edler, Bracelet Winner in Event #45
Jim McCrink raises from the button to 29,000, and Bill Edler takes his time thinking in the big blind before reraising to 119,000. McCrink asks Edler how much he has left, and Edler glances at his stack and says, "Eighty thousand." Then he stops himself, remembering that his four stacks of yellow chips are 40 high rather than the standard 20. Edler quickly amends himself, "Wait. One hundred and sixty thousand. I have one hundred and sixty thousand."

McCrink thinks for about a minute, and then puts his hands behind his chips as if he's about to push all in. Edler doesn't budge. McCrink picks up his cards and tosses them into the muck.

As Edler collects the pot, he says, "That could have been a disaster. I said eighty, and if you called and I actually had one-sixty -- that could have been a disaster."

After the hand, Edler is up to 320,000, while McCrink drops down to about 370,000.

Alan Levin Takes A Big Pot From Dario Minieri

Levin called Minieri's 50,000 preflop raise and the two saw a {J-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop. Minieri bet 90K, Levin moved all-in for nearly 700K, and Dario called. He held {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} but Levin had flopped a set with {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}. The board ran out {6-Diamonds} and {10-Clubs} and Levin doubled to 1,500,000 at Minieri's expense. Dario is down to 1,875,000.

Kelly Jo McGlothlin= First Million-Chip Woman

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, Kelly Jo McGlothlin bet 100,000. Cory Carroll asked how much she had behind, and she said "about 400,000." Carroll thought for about three minutes before moving all in, and McGlothlin quickly called, turning over {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} while Carroll showed {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The turn was the {6-Spades}, the river was the {A-Hearts}, and McGlothlin doubled through Carroll, taking her stack up to 1,000,000.

Kevin Kim Flops A Boat

Ryan Lawrence raised 40,000 and Kevin Kim called. The flop was {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Both players checked. The turn was the {10-Diamonds}. Lawrence checked, Kim bet 40,000 and Lawrence check-raised to 120,000. Kim called. The river was the {A-Spades}. Lawrence fired out 200,000 and Kim called. Lawrence showed 5-5, while Kim flipped over {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} for a full house.

"I thought he had quads," Kim said. "I was scared."
