Three and Out for Ben Lamb

Hand #1

Huck Seed bets 35,000 in early position. Ben Lamb calls in middle position. Alan Keating raise to 100,000 on the button and both fold.

Hand #2
Board: {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

In the next hand, Ben Lamb bets 40,000 in middle position and Alan Keating makes it 100,000. Lamb calls. On the flop, Lamb checks and Keating bets 134,000. Lamb re-raises to 284,000 and Keating three-bets it to 459,000. Lamb thinks about it for five minutes and lays it down. Keating shows {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Lamb says he had it beat. "That's the secret to No Limit," Keating says. "Putting players to a decision for all their chips."

Hand #3
Board: {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Soon after that, on the flop, Michael Zinna shoves with the nut flush: {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Ben Lamb calls with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Lamb needs lots of help on the turn and river and doesn't get it. He is out and Zinna is at 1,500,000.

Paul Spitzberg raised 67,000 preflop and Jeff "Mr. Rain" Banghart called. The flop was {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Mr. Rain checked, Paul Spitzberg bet 103,000 and Mr. Rain called. The turn was the {10-Clubs}. Mr. Rain checked. Paul Spitzberg bet 500,000 and Mr. Rain check-raised all in for 1,720,000. Paul Spitzberg quickly called.

Mr. Rain: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Spitzberg: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Mr. Rain had flopped a set, but Paul Spitzberg turned a higher set. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Paul Spitzberg doubled through Mr. Rain. After that hand, Paul Spitzberg increased his stack to 2.8 million while Jeff "Mr. Rain" Banghart slipped to 600,000.

Bo Sehlstedt Eliminated by Tom Peterson

Shortly before the dinner break, Bo Sehlstedt raises from middle position to 40,000, Avi Cohen calls from middle position, Tom Peterson raises from the big blind to 137,000, Sehlstedt moves all in for 226,000, Cohen folds, and Peterson calls with {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Sehlstedt shows {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}, and he'll need it to hold up to stay alive.

The board comes {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Spades}, and Peterson flops two pair to win the pot.

Bo Sehlstedt is eliminated from the Main Event.

Set Over Set

Jon Moonves raised to 40,000 from early position and Robin Bergren called from the small blind. The flop was {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Bergren checked, Mooves moved all in and Bergren insta-called. Bergren showed {3-Hearts}{3-Spades} for a set of threes and Moonves turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} for an overpair and a straight draw. The turn was the {10-Clubs}, but the river was the {7-Diamonds}, making Moonves a higher set and he took down a monster pot.

David Names Pushes David Levi Out of a Chopped Pot

David Levi
David Levi
After a flop of {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, David Names checks, David Levi bets 80,000, Markus Gonsalves folds, Names raises to 225,000, and Levi goes into the tank. After several minutes of thinking, Levi folds {A-Spades}{K-Spades} face up, leaving himself with just 140,000.

Levi asks Names what he had, and he says, "I had a redraw." As the pot is pushed to Names, Levi continues the pressure, and Names relents, turning over {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} -- it would have been a chopped pot.
