Prior to his elimination last night, PokerNews talked to Todd Brunson on dinner break and he predicted a win. Despite Todd's prediction not coming true, he still had some interesting things to say.
After a player in early position raised to 21,000, Mark Sanchez re-raised to 75K and Muchnik moved in for the last of his chips. The original raiser folded and Sanchez called and flipped over pocket Aces, which crushed Muchnik's pocket Tens.
Until the flop. Muchnik held on through the on the turn and on the river to double up to 300,000. Sanchez fell to 180K.
One hand after Sanchez had his Aces cracked his Main Event came to an end. He raised to 18,000 and Verma called from late position. The flop came and after Sanchez checked Verma bet 25,000. Sanchez check-raised all in and Verma immediately called, showing for a set. Sanchez only had and was eliminated.
David Levi was all in with against Kevin Howatt's A-K. Howatt flopped a Ace and was ahead until Levi rivered a case King. He won the pot with a set. His stack increased to 350,000.
Just before the break, on a flop of , Ovenson Benoit bet 25,000, Ut Nguyen raised it up 50,000, Beniot pushed all-in for a total of 240,000 and Nguyen called. Benoit turned over and Ngyuen showed an . The came on the turn, on the river and Benoit doubled up to 540,000 with his pair of nines. Nguyen was left with 28,000.
On a board of , Alan Levin fired out 60,000. Dario Minieri raised to 350,000. Levin called and showed for top pair and top kicker. He sniffed out a bluff from Minieri who showed .
Minieri slipped to 1.8 million while Levin increaded his stack to 412,000.
Neitrayan got things started by raising to 20K in early position. Peed then re-raised for his last 80,000 and Smith came over the top for an additional 120K. Neitrayan thought awhile before making the call, and he showed A-Q to Peed's pocket Tens and Smith's pocket Kings.
The flop gave Neitrayan a pair but it was the on the turn that put him firmly in the lead. The on the river gave the pot to Neitrayan and eliminated both Smith and Peed. Neitrayan now has 1.32 million.
