Featured Table Update

The first level of the day was a little short, because it started last night. (They played one hour and 48 minutes of it today.) In that time, the Featured Table played just 30 hands.

Here are the chipcounts and seating positions for the Featured Table.

Seat 2 - Lee Childs - 11.68 million
Seat 3 - Jon Kalmar - 3.25 million
Seat 4 - Stefan Mattsson - 3.119 million
Seat 5 - Daniel Alaei - 1.6 million
Seat 6 - Jerry Yang - 2.5 million
Seat 7 - Kenny Tran - 6.5 million
Seat 8 - Tuan Lam - 6.3 million

Daniel Alaei Chipping Up Slowly

Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei just moved all in preflop on the first three hands back from break, getting no action. But with 190,000 in the pot with blinds and antes, he's adding a significant amount to his short stack, and he's increased his stack to 1.73 million.

ESPN Featured Table Rules

A camera flash goes off in the crowd, prompting announcer/tournament director Sam Minutello to give the standard spiel -- no flash photos, and turn off the ringers on all cellphones. Upon hearing this, Tuan Lam looks at the announcer and reaches for his pocket. But Minutello stops him, saying, "No, you're good." The audience laughs.

A minute later, with a big hand developing (stay tuned), a cellphone rings to break the silence, and Minutello quips, "Alright, thanks for abiding by the rules."

Tuan Lam Takes a 2.69 Million Pot From Stefan Mattsson

At the Featured Table, Kenny Tran raises from middle position to 220,000, Tuan Lam calls from the cutoff, and Stefan Mattsson calls from the big blind.

The flop comes {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, Mattsson checks, Tran checks, Lam bets 350,000, Mattsson raises to 960,000, Tran quickly folds, Lam thinks for a minute before reraising to 1.76 million, and Mattsson goes into the tank. After about three minutes, Mattsson requests a clock -- on himself.

As the minute counts down, Mattsson folds with about 30 seconds remaining. Tuan Lam takes the pot worth 2.69 million.
