Almost Set to Go

Brasilia Room
Brasilia Room
We are over here in the Brasilia Room, as the tournament staff prepares the area for the start of today's event. We are playing mixed Pot-Limit Hold'em and Omaha today, 30 minutes of each game to complete one full level. There are 65 tables set up in this room, and we tentatively expect to fit the full field in here.

Action will be underway shortly, so stay tuned!

Raymer Sighting

Though he isn't in the field today, Greg Raymer has just dropped by, pausing at Table 5 to have a chat with Andy Black.

"Are you playing, Greg?"

After explaining that he had to pick his wife and daughter up from the airport, Fossilman added: "I would play if I had a chance to draw this table."

That drew a chuckle from the other pros at the table, namely Woody Deck and Justin Bonomo, along with Black.

Another Pro-Heavy Event

As we peruse the field, we have been picking pros out of the crowd, and the list has grown quite large. There are far too many to name here, but check our chip counts' page for a fairly complete list of the big names in the field.

Josh Arieh Out

A player under the gun opens up for a raise, and a middle-position player makes the call. Action folds around to Josh Arieh in the big blind, and he reraises both players. The initial raiser comes back over the top once more, and Arieh makes the call.

The flop is {4-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {7-Diamonds}. Arieh bets out, enough to put himself all in, and he gets called by the under-the-gun player holding {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}. Arieh is behind and at risk with his {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} {8-Clubs} {6-Spades}.

The turn and river run out {6-Clubs}, {2-Hearts} respectively, providing no help to Arieh, and he is sent out in the first round of Omaha.

A Champion's Welcome

With 2005 WSOP Champion Joe Hachem arriving at his seat, he is greeted by John Juanda and Lee Watkinson, making this one of the toughest tables in the room.
