In Da Hood

Two recognizable faces in Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott and Dario Minieri are currently table neighbors, both donning hoods and looking very focused indeed.

Although Minieri was pushed off a seven high flop by Devilfish who showed tens (Minieri claimed A-K), the Italian whiz is still running well with 19,850 in chips.

Devilfish, meanwhile, is flying high with an impressive 29,500.

Green Checks One Down

Martin Green made it 800 from the button, the small blind called and Shannon Shorr folded from the big.

Both players then proceeded to check down a {K-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} board, Green mucking after his opponent showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

Green now down to 9,825.

Also on that table is Omaha/seven-card stud hi-low finalist John Racener with 18,100.

Khan Moves Up

An unknown player raised to 800 in mid position, and both Hevad Khan (button) and the small blind called.

The flop came down {10-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {9-Spades} and it checked around to Khan, who bet 1,800. The original raiser folded, but the small blind raised to 4,500. Khan called.

They both checked the {9-Hearts} turn, and the small blind checked the {6-Hearts} river; he laid it down when Khan bet 8,100, and Khan took down a sizable pot.

Khan now on 37,000.

Nathwani Heads Chasing Pack

One player emerging as a potential challenger for the current chip leaders is Ketul Nathwani on 35,500. A young pro from London, Nathwani won a recent GUKPT event at the Grosvenor Victoria for $238,008 and is regarding as a highly successful online player. Certainly one to keep a close eye on.

Murphy Bust

John Murphy is the latest casualty that we have confirmed.

By the way, although the board in here still claims 378 runners, the number is considerably lower now. I suspect that as the rate of exits is so high, the WSOP powers that be are waiting until breaks to update the number of runners.

Camel Left Spitting in Double Elimination

Keith 'the Camel' Hawkins is a recent departure in what turned out to be a double knock-out. Betting out 1,100 on a {4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} board, Hawkins was called in one spot, but raised to 3,000 in another by Alon Shahar. Hawkins pushed in for his remaining 4,425 and both remaining players smooth called.

A {3-Hearts} on the river and all the chips flew in, Hawkins mucking his cards dejectedly as Shahar revealed {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for the rivered straight.

Shahar now on 46,500.

Batista Takes a Blow

Chad Batista
Chad Batista
Chad Batista has been moving his stack in a lot of late, openly informing the table that he is looking to build a healthy stack within the next few rounds.

As his stack rose above average, Batista became involved in a three-way pot. With just over 3,000 already in the middle, Batista moved all in on the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop and was called by the player on the button.

Whilst his opponent showed {A-Spades}{8-Spades} for the open ended straight draw, Batista tabled an in front but vulnerable {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for second pair. However, a cruel {6-Spades} on the turn was a crushing blow, the useless {Q-Hearts} river leaving Batista with just 4,000 in chips.
