Fager on Fumes

Scott Bergman raised to 12,800 from UTG, Steven Fager moved all in for 35,200, Joseph O'Neil called all in for 33,600 and Bergman folded.

O'Neil {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}

Fager {J-Spades} {J-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} and O'Neil took it down, increasing his stack to 90,000 and crippling Fager to only 1,600.

Fager was all in on the next hand. The small blind called, Bergman moved all in for 24,000 from the big blind and the small blind folded.

Fager {Q-Hearts} {J-Hearts}

Bergman {9-Clubs} {9-Spades}

The flop was {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {5-Clubs}, Bergman's nines still in the lead, but Fager picked up the flush draw. He made the flush on the turn when the {K-Hearts} fell. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Fager survived. He's still on fumes, though with only 7,000 in chips.

Beth Shak Eliminated in 62nd Place ($7,547)

Beth Shak Eliminated
Beth Shak Eliminated
James Lohmer moved all in for 35,100 in early position. When action got to Shane Stacey, he called from late position. Beth Shak, with just 14,000 remaining and a chance to triple up, called all in from the big blind without looking at her cards. The players showed:

Lohmer: {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}
Stacey: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Shak: {5-Spades} {4-Clubs}

The flop was perfect for Shak as it came {8-Clubs} {8-Spades} {5-Hearts}. The turn however, was far from perfect falling the {Q-Hearts}. Shak got no help when the river came the {K-Hearts} and she was eliminated in 62nd place. She takes home $7,547 for her impressive finish here today.

Steve Guillot Eliminated

Steve Guillot moved all in for 13,500 and Pierre Neuville called from the big blind.

Guillot {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Neuville {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs}

The board ran out {9-Spades} {8-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {3-Hearts} and Neuville's ace-high held up to eliminate Guillot.

Jose Luis Velador Wins Huge Pot, Takes Chip Lead

Jose Luis Velador
Jose Luis Velador
We caught up to this hand on the river. With the board reading {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs} {9-Spades} {5-Spades} {4-Diamonds} and a good sized pot in the center, Jose Luis Velador bet 85,000 over to his lone opponent Richard Toth. Toth contemplated for upwards of four minutes before finally making the call. Velador showed {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts} for top two pair. Toth flashed the {K-Diamonds} as he mucked.

After the hand, Velador's chip stack is just shy of 500,000 while Toth is down to approximately 55,000.

Joe Bussey Eliminated

After a series of raises, Joe Bussey and Jose Luis Velador tangled in a hand that saw Bussey's tournament life hanging in the balance. The last of Bussey's 107,000 chips were in the middle and he was holding {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds}. Velador had him beat though as he tabled {A-Hearts} {A-Clubs}. The board helped neither player and Bussey was eliminated. Velador's heater continues as he is now just over 570,000 chips.

Robert Jarman Doubles Up

Robert Jarman just doubled up to approximately 45,000 when he got all his chips in good holding {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} against the {A-Clubs} {J-Clubs} of Joanne Haas. Jarman was good the whole way but rivered the {Q-Diamonds} to accentuate the double up. Haas is down to 77,000 after the hand.

Fager Back in this Thing

Steven Fager, who was crippled to only 1,600 in chips a few hours ago, has made an astounding comeback.

In his last hand, Fager took his {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} up against the {6-Spades} {6-Diamonds} of Albert Iverson. Iverson couldn't improve and Fager sent him to the rail.

Fager is now up to 70,000 in chips
