Jacob Makes Moves

Preflop, a player in the cutoff made it 400 to go and Alex Jacob called. The flop fell {A-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {6-Spades} and Jacob's opponent led out for 600. Jacob moved all in and his opponent eventually folded, showing pocket kings as he tossed his hand in.

After the hand, Jacob is up to 3,700

John Phan Drops an Early Pot

John Phan just won his first bracelet but his luck took a bad turn in a hand where he was all in preflop with {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs} against {K-Spades} {Q-Spades} and had his opponent flop an open-ended straight draw and make Broadway on the turn. Phan's down to 1,700.

Dealer Answers Prayers, Then Reneges

Humberto Brenes was facing a raise preflop when he decided to put his opponent all-in. Humberto turned over {A-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} for big slick and saw he was up against his opponents {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} . "Put out the king! Put out the king!" Humberto chanted as the dealer began to flop the board. The chant continued as the flop ran {Q-Spades} {5-Spades} {7-Clubs}, yet stopped when the {K-Spades} smacked on the turn. Humberto was quite happy, while his opponent packed up and headed for the door. Luckily, he hadn't gotten very far, as the {J-Spades} fell on the river to keep him in the game.

Mark Seif Eliminated

Prefop, the player under the gun made it 300 to go and Mark Seif called.

Flop: {6-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}

Mark's opponent led out for 500 and Mark called. The turn brought the {Q-Clubs} and his opponent quickly moved all in. Mark called for his remaining 1,400 and showed {7-Hearts} {9-Hearts} for the open-ended straight-flush draw while his opponent had flopped a set with pocket rockets. The river brought the {7-Diamonds} and Mark was eliminated.

Why Not Ask for World Peace?

After a {9-Spades} {K-Spades} {8-Clubs} flop John Phan found himself all in with the {7-Spades} {8-Spades} against two players who each had a king. "Five of spades," Phan said before the dealer revealed the turn card. "Five of spades."

And on the turn, the {5-Spades}.

No word if Phan's powers of wish-fulfillment extend beyond the poker table, but he tripled up and now has a whopping 800 in chips.

A Bad Time for a Big Hand

Fabrice Soulier raised to 200 and the player in the cutoff raised to 800. Rolf Slotboom reraised to 1,900 and after Soulier folded the cutoff moved all in.

"Bad timing, sir," Slotboom said as he turned over pocket aces to his opponent's pocket kings. Slotbloom flopped a set, won the hand, and now has 8,000.
