Twelve Remain

The players have returned and are ready to go. For the next thirty minutes it is limit hold'em, with blinds of 5,000/10,000 and stakes of 10,000/20,000.

Between Two Extremes

The mood is quietly intense at our two tables as these dozen players jockey back and forth during the limit round. Meanwhile, behind us Chris Ferguson has doubled up several times, sending the crowd watching the televised final table of Event No. 2 into frequent spasms of joy.

Ben Zamani Eliminated in 12th ($23,406)

Under the gun, Andrew Robl raises and David Rheem re-raises on the button. Ben Zamani calls all in for 16,000 and Robl calls. The flop is {J-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Robel bets. Rheem raises and Robel calls on the side. The turn is {5-Spades} and Robel checks. Rheem bets and Robel calls. The river is {2-Hearts} and Robel checks. Rheem bets and Robel lays it down. Zamani has K-K, but Rheem has {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for the turned straight. Zamani is eliminated.

Tension at Table No. 1

An intense limit hold'em hand just concluded on Table #1. Pat Pezzin bet from middle position, Chau Giang raised from the button, and Justin Bonomo 3-bet from the big blind. Pezzin folded, and Giang called.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. Bonomo pushed out 10,000, Giang raised, Bonomo three-bet, and Chiang called.

The turn was the {4-Spades}. Bonomo quickly bet 20,000, and Giang called.

The river was the {6-Hearts}. Bonomo again bet, and Giang reacted visibly, quickly standing up and saying "Impossible!" He then took a full six or seven minutes to decide before making the call.

Bonomo showed two black queens and Giang mucked in disgust. He is now severely short-stacked.

Chau Giang Eliminated in 11th ($23,406)

Chau Giang
Chau Giang
Chau Giang had 18,000 left in the big blind with blinds at 3,000 / 6,000. Andrew Robl raises to 12,000, Giang re-raises 6,000 more all in and Robl calls. Robl has {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Giang has {K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The board is {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Giang is eliminated. Robl has 190,000 now.

The staff is now reshuffling the players for a quasi-final table of 10. This table will play to a single elimination before ending for the night.
