Rousso Dealing

Vanessa Rousso has just eliminated a player in a heads up all in. There was an initial raise, and Rousso and her opponent were the only two to make it to the flop.

It came {7-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {2-Diamonds}. The player in early position moved all in for his last 1,100, and Rousso quickly called with {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} as her opponent tabled {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs}.

The dealer mistakenly began to rake the mucked cards into the deck, preparing to shuffle before Rousso stopped her in her tracks. The dealer seemed confused about the action, and she wasn't sure what she needed to do next. Rousso was good natured about it though, telling her, "We're on the turn, burn and deal a card two times." The dealer caught back up and ran out the {3-Clubs} and {7-Hearts} for the last two streets.

After her opponent knocked the table and stood up to leave, Rousso joked to the dealer, "Okay, now you push all those chips over to me." With that win, she has chipped up to around 4,200.

Jimmy Tran Sent to the Rail

No-Limit Hold'em:

A middle-position player made it 125. The small blind called the raise and then Jimmy Tran reraised to 550 from the big blind. The original raiser folded and then the small blind moved all in for 2,800. Tran made the call for his 2,125 chips.

Tran held the best hand with {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} and his opponent held {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {10-Spades} {9-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} and Tran still held the lead, with his opponent picking up a straight draw. The turn was clean for Tran, the {9-Spades}. But then, just as Tran was ready to double up, the dealer slapped the {8-Diamonds} on the river to send Tran to the rail. He seemed very disgusted with the hand as he left the tournament area.

More Chips for Sugar Bear

No-Limit Hold'em:

Al "Sugar Bear" Barbieri raised under the gun to 100. A player in middle position called. The flop came {8-Spades} {4-Clubs} {4-Hearts} and Barbieri bet out 300. His opponent called.

The turn came the {10-Clubs} and Barbieri bet again, this time 1,200. His opponent called. The river came the {J-Hearts} and Barbieri moved all in for 1,100. After some thought, his opponent folded.

Barbieri is now up to 4,900.

Table Of Death Loses it's Only Fish

In the mass of tables here in the Amazon room we have an early contender for the table of death. Sat next to each other are Noah Boeken, Carlos Mortensen Dave Ulliot. The latter of these has just fallen.

No Limit Hold'em:

The main damage to Dave Ulliot's stack was when he called Noah's raise of 75, as did the big blind player.

The flop came {K-Spades} {7-?} {4-?} where Boeken bet 200 that only Ulliot called.

The turn {9-Spades} saw Boeken check this time and call Ulliot's 500 bet.

The river brought {J-Spades} and once again Boeken checked to face a 600 bet from Ulliot that he pumped up to 1,600.

Ulliot called with {K-?} {J-?} and wasn't happy to see Boeken's {A-Spades} {7-Spades} for the nut flush.

This left Ulliot with 100 chips that went in the next hand. Carlos Mortensen called and knocked him out.

Emad Gets Tattooed

Emad Tahtouh limped in to the pot, and action came around to the small blind. He raised to 300, and the big blind called along with Tahtouh.

The flop came down {9-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {5-Spades}. The small blind bet out all in for his entire stack, representing a substantial overbet of the pot. The big blind folded, and Tahtouh tanked for several agonizing minutes. After an eternity, he finally made the call, showing down {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts}. He must have been feeling great to see the all in player table {A-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}. The turn blanked off -- {5-Diamonds}. The river, however, was the {A-Clubs}, and Tahtouh literally fell out of his chair. His opponent raked in the pot after making top pair, and knocked Tahtouh down to 1,100 chips.

Grey Matter

David Grey got tangled up in a hand with Chad Albert, and it cost him his tournament life.

We pick up the action on the flop, with the two men heads up. The board showed {7-?} {5-?} {4-?}. David Grey bet 400 and Albert raised to 1,200. Grey moved in for another 2,900 on top, and Albert quickly called. Grey tabled {6-?} {6-?}, while Albert had him notched with {7-?} {7-?}, and had flopped top set. The turn and river cam {9-?} {9-?}, dodging Grey's straight draw and sending him to the exit.

Italy Versus Spain Mk II

Spain is victorious in this battle as over the course of two hands Carlos Mortensen has eliminated recent bracelet winner, Dario Minieri.

In the first hand Minieri hung around to the river but folded to Mortensen's 1,100 bet on {8-?} {5-Spades} {2-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {2-Clubs} board. Another player involved called but mucked when he saw Mortensen'a {A-Hearts} {2-Spades}.

A few hands later Minieri raised from middle position and found Mortensen and the blinds calling.

The flop came {8-Spades} {J-Spades} {8-Clubs}. Minieri bet out for 225 and only Mortenson called.

The turn came {6-Clubs} and Mortensen called a 400 bet from Minieri.

The river came {9-Diamonds} before Minieri bet his last 1,700. Mortensen snap called with {8-Hearts} {9-Hearts} which was good for the pot and the downing on the diminutive Italian.

Humberto Making Moves

Limit Hold'em:

Humberto Brenes called from the button after an opponent raised from under the gun. The flop came {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {7-Clubs} and Humberto's opponent bet out. Brenes raised and was called.

The turn came the {4-Clubs} and it was checked to Brenes. He bet and his opponent called.

The river was the {A-Hearts} and Humberto's opponent check-called another bet from Humberto. Brenes rolled over {A-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} and his opponent mucked.

Brenes is now up to 4,300.

The Dutchman Flies Out

Limit Hold'em:

Sabyl Landrum, Marcel Luske, and Nikolay Evdakov were just involved in a three-way pot moments ago.

The betting was capped before the flop, resulting in Luske being all in and at risk. The board came down {10-Spades} {4-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} {7-Hearts}. On the flop and turn, Evdakov checked and called a bet from Landrum. Both players checked the river. Sabyl Landrum turned over {K-?} {K-?}, and Evdakov mucked his hand. Luske had to beat her overpair to stay alive, but he held only {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts}, and is eliminated. Landrum, meanwhile, has upped her count to 7,500.
