Spain is victorious in this battle as over the course of two hands Carlos Mortensen has eliminated recent bracelet winner, Dario Minieri.

In the first hand Minieri hung around to the river but folded to Mortensen's 1,100 bet on {8-?}

which was good for the pot and the downing on the diminutive Italian.
