The Master Goes Up the River

Men "The Master" Nguyen was the first limper into a pot from the hijack seat. The cutoff and both blinds followed suit, and it was four-handed to the flop.

It came {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {3-Spades}, and all four checked. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}. Faraz Jaka bet out 12,000 chips from the small blind, and the big blind folded. Action was on The Master, and he moved all in for a total of 40,200. The cutoff folded, and Jaka made the call. With betting complete, the hands were turned over:

Jaka: {9-Spades} {6-Clubs}
Nguyen: {Q-Hearts} {8-Hearts}

Men Nguyen was well ahead, but still had to sweat one more card to survive. Much to his displeasure, the {9-Clubs} peeled off on the river, making two pair for his opponent and spelling the end for The Master.
