No Mercy for Eli Elezra

Eli Elezra
Eli Elezra
Stud-8:

Eli Elezra was all in after fifth street with his board showing {A-Spades} {2-Hearts} {7-Hearts} to Isabelle Mercier's {6-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {8-Clubs} . Mercier was dealt the {8-Spades} on sixth street to Elezra's {4-Hearts}, and when the final cards were dealt Elezra said, "Two pair." But Mercier caught the {K-Clubs} to go with the {2-Clubs} {3-Clubs} she already held, and her flush brought an end to Elezra's day. Isabelle is up to 295,000.

Hansen vs. Hansen, Thor Prevails

Hold'em:

Thor Hansen raised from middle position and Gus Hansen called from the big blind. The flop came {8-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {2-Clubs}. Gus check-raised Thor and got a quick call.

The turn fell the {3-Spades} and Gus led out again. Thor called. The river fell the {J-Spades} and Gus checked. Thor bet and Gus agonized over the call. He finally made it and Thor showed {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds}. Gus mucked and was left with just 22,000 in chips. Thor, meanwhile, climbs to about 137,000.

Moonlighting

There was a bit of an issue at Table #1 as Greg Mueller moved there just as they were switching to hold'em. There was some confusion as to where the button should be with Mueller joining the table, and so the dealer called for the floor.

And Kenny Tran, taking a little walk in-between hands, sidled up behind the dealer and barked, "What's the problem!?"

Robert Mizrachi Hanging by a Thread

Robert Mizrachi
Robert Mizrachi
Omaha-8:

Robert Mizrachi was left with just 6,500 when he went to the river with Matt Glantz and couldn't beat Glantz's {Q-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {5-Diamonds} on the {4-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {10-Spades} {9-Clubs} board. He was left with just 6,500 chips.

Mizrachi doulbed up the following hand when he got paid off on his {A-?} {A-?} (X) (X). He is currently on a stack of roughly 13,000.

James Mackey Takes a Pot from Farzad Bonyadi

Stud:

With his board reading {10-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {K-Clubs} James Mackey bet out and Farzad Bonyadi, showing a board of {J-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {3-Hearts}, put in a raise. Mackey called, then checked when he was dealt the {6-Diamonds} to Bonyadi's {Q-Hearts}. Bonyadi bet and Mackey check-raised, which Bonyadi called.

When the last cards were dealt Mackey bet out, was called, and showed {6-Clubs} {6-Spades} {4-Hearts} for trip sixes, good enough to get Bonyadi to muck.

Tim Phan Eliminated

Razz:

Brandon Adams: (X-X) {2-?} {8-?} {4-?} {8-?} (X)

Tim Phan: (X-X) {5-?} {7-?} {7-?} {9-?}

Kenny Tran: (X-X) {A-?} {K-?}

On fourth street Adams bet, Phan raised, Tran folded Adams reraised and Phan called. On fifth, Phan committed his last 5,500 in the dark and Adams called.

Adams showed {A-?} {3-?} {4-?} for an 8-4 low and Phan mucked as he headed for the rail.

Wait...Who?

You'd think with a field of just 148 players, there would be considerable diversity when it comes to the names of these players...you'd be wrong. Believe it or not, it's easy for a bit of confusion to overcome the most veteran of reporter when the field you are covering includes the following:
