Shuffle Up And Deal

The players have returned from their early lunch and cards are again in the air. It's said that a rebuy tournament truly begins when the rebuy period is over, so now we're gonna get down to some serious poker.

Completely Different Atmosphere

With the conclusion of the rebuy levels, the atmosphere in the Amazon room is completely different than before the one-hour lunch break. Players don't seem to be as anxious, tables aren't as lively as they were before, and the level of intensity has certainly escalated. We've already heard many yells of "Seat open!" throughout the Amazon room during the last 15 minutes, and at least one table, Orange 19, has already lost five players.

J.C. Alvardo Push-and-Run Strategy

J.C. Alvarado is playing in today's event and is still alive in the $5,000 Mixed Hold'em tournament. He moved in the last of his chips against Eli Elezra, then raced off to play a hand in the $5,000 Mixed event. When he returned he found that his {A-Clubs} {9-Spades} lost to Elezra's {K-Diamonds} {J-Spades} when Elezra spiked a king on the river. "So sick!" Alvarado shouted, and then returned to the $5,000 Mixed event.

Worst To First

J.C. Tran lost a three-way pot where he held {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}, one opponent had {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}, and another held {K-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. But it was that player who made a runner-runner club flush to take down the pot and leave Tran with just 6,500.

Where's David?

David Benyamine
David Benyamine
David Benyamine has not yet returned to the table following the one-hour break. He had 12,700 when play resumed and while the blinds are only 100-200 his stack is slowly dwinding away.

Dario Minieri Eliminated

Dario Minieri led out preflop from under the gun for 600 and was called by a player on the button. The flop came {3-Spades} {4-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} and Minieri led out again for 900. His opponent raised to 4,000 and Minieri moved all in. His opponent called and turned over {A-Hearts} {Q-Spades} while Minieri showed {7-Spades} {A-Clubs} for top pair top kicker. The {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn but the {Q-Diamonds} on the river eliminated Minieri from the event.
