Gabe Kaplan is Eliminated

With the board reading {5-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {7-Spades}, Pat White bet 100 and Gabe Kaplan raised to 1,000. White called, and when the turn came the {J-Clubs}, Kaplan bet his last 2,400 and White quickly called again. He had {8-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} for the flopped straight, and Kaplan was drawing dead with {7-Hearts} {4-Spades}. White now has 20,000.

Robert Mizrachi Has Been Eliminated

Bill Gazes did the heavy lifting, doubling up through Robert Mizrachi when his {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} outflopped Mizrachi's pocket nines, a hand that boosted Gazes to 9,000 and left Mizrachi with just 2,000. On the next hand Mizrachi moved in with {8-Spades} {9-Spades}, was called by Jennifer Tilly holding {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} , and when the board improved neither player Mizrachi was eliminated.

The Mouth's Loss

Mike "The Mouth" Matusow and Ted Forrest became involved in a series of bickerings last year, the result of which being a prop bet that involved Matusow losing a significant amount of weight.

The wager? Mike needed to go from 241 pounds to under 181 pounds within a certain amount of time. If he could do it, he would net $100,000. For four days during the bet Mike was on a lemonade and cayenne pepper diet.

Mike is here playing in today's event and is a very sleek 179 pounds, two pounds under the prop bet goal. Mike appears to be playing well, looks to be in great shape, and as always, is talking quite a bit.

Juanda Taking Names

John Juanda has been on quite a roll, eliminating two players back-to-back and moving his stack up to 40,000.

The first player was eliminated on a board of {6-Hearts} {3-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} when a player made it 1,500 to go and Juanda called. The turn brought the {10-Spades} and his opponent moved all in for 4,925 and Juanda called showing {10-Hearts} {8-Hearts} for top pair while his opponent held {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} .

The hand immediately after, a player moved all in preflop and had Juanda covered. Juanda instantly called and turned over pocket aces, while his opponent showed pocket jacks. The board brought little help for his opponent, giving Juanda a strong chip stack going into the second break of the day.

Still One in the Deck

Michael Brummelhuis and Mike Banducci got all the money in after the turn with the board reading {4-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. Banducci rolled over {5-Clubs} {5-Spades} for the turned set, only to find that Brummelhuis flopped top set with {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}. Banducci was drawing to the {5-Diamonds} and that card only...and of course that's the card the dealer laid on the felt. Banducci let out a loud whoop that got the attention of the room, but that was the extent of the celebration as that one-outer gave him the 36,000 pot.
