Hand #41 - Marty Smyth

Tom Hanlon has the button in Seat 7. Action comes all the way around the table to the small blind, where Marty Smyth raises to 120,000. That's enough for big blind [Removed:14], and he lets Smyth have it.

Hand #42 - [Removed:14]

Marty Smyth has the button in Seat 8. Brandon Moran limps in under the gun, [Removed:14] calls from the small blind, and Kido Pham checks his option in the big.

The flop reveals {7-Hearts} {9-Spades} {4-Spades}. Harroch bets 120,000. Pham lets his hand go, and Moran studies the situation for a minute. After a little delay, he announces, "I raise the pot," making it a total of 480,000, enough to cover his opponent. Harroch makes the call and is all in for a total of 450,000, at risk of elimination. With the betting complete, the hands are turned up:

Moran: {4-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}
Harroch: {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {8-Clubs} {10-Hearts}

Harroch is leading with his set of sevens and needs to fade two more cards to keep his spot at the table.

The turn is the {6-Spades}, giving him a ten-high straight and leaving Moran drawing to a ten for a chop. The river improves Harroch further; the {4-Clubs} makes him a full boat, and he more than doubles up close to the million mark. Moran, meanwhile, is left with just 135,000 chips.

Hand #43 - Brandon Moran

[Removed:14] has the button in Seat 9. Marty Smyth open-raises to 140,000. Action folds to Brandon Moran in the big blind, who point several times at his own stack and Smyth's stack and looks like he's doing math in his head. The math must have been favorable; after a minute he moves all in for a total of 135,000.

Moran: {Q-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}
Smyth: {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {8-Hearts}

The hand are fairly even until the flop comes {5-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} to make a set for Moran along with a redraw to a flush. The turn {2-Hearts} helps neither player, and the {A-Clubs} on the river isn't enough to save Smyth's hand. Moran doubles up.

Hand #44 - Kido Pham

Kido Pham has the button in Seat 1. Play folds around to him, and he considers for a minute before coming in with a raise to 110,000. The blinds fold, and Pham picks up a free round of forced bets.

Brandon Moran Eliminated in 8th Place ($107,442)

Brandon Moran - 8th Place
Brandon Moran - 8th Place
Hand No. 45 -

Brandon Moran has the button in Seat 2. Kido Pham is the first player to fire at the pot, coming in for a min-raise to 80,000. Moran, with his newly acquired chips, thinks for a few seconds before calling from the button. Peter Jetten also calls from the small blind, but the big blind, Michael Mizrachi, throws a wrench in the works by declaring a pot-sized raise to 400,000.

Kido Pham has the first decision after Mizrachi's raise. He tanks for about a minute and then calls. Moran must like his chances against two players, as he quickly moves all in for less than the 400,000 bet, drawing a gasp of surprise from the spectators in the lounge. Jetten is the only one to lay down his hand.

With two live players, Moran keeps his hand closed as the flop comes down {A-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {4-Hearts}. Mizrachi quickly moves all in, folding Pham. The side pot is his; now Brandon Moran will fight him for the main pot and Moran's tournament life.

Mizrachi: {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} {2-Hearts}
Moran: {8-Clubs} {6-Spades} {5-Spades} {3-Diamonds}

Moran is in terrible shape against Mizrachi's set. The turn {4-Clubs} cinches the hand for Mizrachi by making him a full house. For those keeping score at home, the river came {J-Diamonds}.

Mizrachi drags a huge pot to increase his chip lead, and in the process sends Moran to the rail to collect $107,442.

Hand #46 - Michael Mizrachi

Peter Jetten has the button in Seat 3. He's the first in the pot with a raise to 110,000. Michael Mizrachi, sitting in the small blind, is the only caller.

Mizrachi bets 120,000, roughly half the pot, on a flop of {5-Hearts} {k-Clubs} {10-Clubs}. Jetten has no stomach for continuing with the hand.

Hand #47 - Billy Argyros

Michael Mizrachi has the button in Seat 4. The table folds around to the blinds, where Billy Argyros completes and Tom Hanlon checks his option.

The two men see the flop come {10-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {Q-Clubs}. The Croc bets 75,000, and Hanlon folds, after which The Croc opens up his {10-Diamonds} {10-Spades}, having flopped middle set.

Thank You For Not Smoking

Someone just lit up a cigarette somewhere in the Milwaukee's Best Light No-Limit Lounge. Everyone -- spectators, media, tournament staff and even players -- turned to the area from which the odor seemed to be emanating. MC Robbie Thompson got on the mic and reminded the crowd that there is no smoking anywhere in the Amazon Room. The smell of smoke immediately vanished.

Hand #48 - Marty Smyth

Billy "The Croc" Argyros has the button in Seat 5. Everyone folds to Marty Smyth in the big blind, giving him a very rare PLO walk. Don't these players know they have four cards in their hand? That's the equivalent of six hold'em hands!

Hand #49 - [Removed:14]

Tom Hanlon has the button in Seat 7. Kido Pham raises to 100,000, and Michael Mizrachi calls. [Removed:14] comes along from the big blind as well.

The flop is {K-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {9-Hearts}. Harroch checks, Pham bets 100,000, and both opponents call.

The turn is the {7-Clubs}. Harroch checks, as does Pham. The Grinder is not so easily pacified. He bets out 200,000. Harroch makes a quick call, and Pham folds after taking a moment to survey his options.

The river brings the {9-Diamonds}. Harroch checks again, and Mizrachi eyes up his opponent before checking down behind. Harroch turns over {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {5-Clubs}, and it's the winner; The Grinder flips his cards into the muck.
