Seidel Looming Large

Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel is one of the big names in the poker world and he's looming as a giant force in this tournament after recently sending an opponent to the rail.

We caught the action on a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs} where Seidel called the all in shove of his opponent.

Seidel tabled {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a set as his opponent revealed {J-?}{10-?} for top pair and gutshot straight draw.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and river the {6-Hearts} and Seidel takes down a very nice pot to move up to 130,000 chips.

Dragon Breathes Some Fire

David Pham
David Pham
David Pham raised to 3,600 from early position with Shawn Farmer making the call in the small blind.

They saw a flop of {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Farmer led out confidently for 5,000 however Pham fought back with a raise to 16,500 to send Farmer into the tank. Clearly at pain with the decision he stood and anguished for many minutes.

"Is this it David? This will be a huge laydown..." pondered Farmer. He still couldn't reach a decision and the clock was called. As the seconds ticked down Farmer finally mucked {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} face up on the table.

Pham collected the pot and flashed {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for a big draw. "The Dragon" is up to around 110,000 chips.

Alexander Kostritsyn Eliminated
Alexander Kostritsyn Eliminated
We didn't catch the preflop betting action, but from all reports it was a pretty intense series of raises between Alexander Kostritsyn and David Pham which led to Kostritsyn moving all in and Pham considering a fold with his {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

"You have aces?" quizzed Pham of his opponent. He eventually made the call and Kostritsyn could only muster up {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

The board fell {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Pham eliminates the Russian superstar to jump up to 190,000 and take his place near the very top of the chip count leaderboard.
