Dwanna Play With Me?

By the by, we do have a Tom Dwan registered in today's event, but it's not who you think it is. Mr Tom Dwan Sr, better known as Durrr's dad, was due to start at noon, but apparently was under instructions from Dwan Jr. not to play the first two levels. He'll be about somewhere now, though -- hopefully he'll become apparent as the field begins to thin.

Less for Jesper

One of our Hougaards at least is in trouble -- big brother Jesper is down to under 2,000 after an opponent called his preflop raise in the big blind and then check-called all the way down the {8-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} board to the {10-Diamonds} river, where he snap-shoved for his last 1,000. Hougaard didn't really like the look of that river, but called -- and mucked when his opponent turned over {5-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for the rivered flush.

Chip Counts Ahoy!

In the ocean of poker players, these sharks are getting their fair share of the tasty little fishies:

Bill Gazes: 7,500
Alex Jacob: 8,000
Kara Scott: 5,100
Soren Kongsgaard: 5,200
Rob "Veerob" Perelman: 6,300
James Mackey: 11,500
Andrew Teng: 11,000
Nam Le: 11,000
Lee Watkinson: 12,000

...And these unfortunate minnows are getting eaten alive:

Berry Johnston: 3,000
Chris Ferguson: 2,600
Marco Traniello: out
Lisa Parsons: out
Jason Mercier: out

J.C. In Tran-sit to the Top

J.C. Tran has got a useful boost to his just-below-starting stack. He raised in mid position and got two callers on the button and the big blind, and all three saw an {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {4-Spades} flop. The big blind bet out 800 but Tran made it 1,800 -- the button quickly ducked out of the way, and so did the big blind. Tran now on 4,800.

Schoenberg's Pretty Hot Right Now

Robert Mizrachi raised to 550 and Erica Schoenberg flatted, only for the gent on the big blind to ship it in for 3,500 total. Mizrachi passed but Schoenberg made the call and they were on their proverbial backs.

Schoenberg: {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}
Mr All In on the Big Blind: {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs}

Board: a decidedly uneventful {7-Hearts} {2-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}

Schoenberg is now up to 10,500.

Hellmuth In the House

"Hey, do you know if Phil Hellmuth is still in the Deuce to Seven?" asked Bill Gazes. I entirely forgot to check, but no matter! Next time I passed the Gazes table, who should be shaking everyone's hand but Mr Hellmuth himself, arriving pretty early at only half an hour into level four. Not much change to his stack yet -- Hellmuth's still on the 3,000 or so he had when he made it in to work.
