Arriving Late, Leaving Early

He's well known for it and sometimes it plays to his advantage - Phil Helmuth waited until 20 minutes before the end of level four before making an appearance today. It didn't work out for the Poker Brat, as not long into level six Hellmuth was out. Probably off to play the $10,000 Limit Championship event.

One for the Rail

PokerNews.nl's Dimitri Tholen raised to 900 from the SB when action folded around to him. The BB thought for a while, then called to see a {10-Hearts} {3-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} flop. The action went check-check, so it went straight to the {A-Diamonds} where Tholen bet 1,400, forcing his opponent to fold.

He then lifted his cards to show me {7-Hearts} {2-Clubs}!! Different class.

Get to Paris via the River

Bryan Paris has won a nice pot after a raised pot was checked all the way down to the river leaving us with a {A-Spades} {8-Spades} {2-Spades} {9-Clubs} {3-Clubs} board. Paris, sandwiched between the aggressor and a caller, bet 2,600 and received two calls.

He tabled {3-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} for a rivered set and the pot putting him up to 30,000.

Card Jacked

Big stack at his table, Daniel Makowsky has just eliminated a player. He raised from EP before and a short stacked player at the other end of the table pushed. He called with {J-Spades} {J-Hearts} and saw he was up against {3-?} {3-?}.

The board ran {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} {K-Spades} to bust the short stack and elevate Makowsky up to 52,000.

Mizzed the Under Pair

Sorell Mizzi has just been crippled. There was an all in raise of over 6,000 in front of him and after some deliberation he moved all in as well. Everyone else folded and Mizzi tabled {9-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} but was behind to his opponent's {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}. The board ran {K-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {J-Spades} {K-Hearts} to leave Mizzi with 1,600.

He was out a few hands later when his pocket sixes couldn't stand the heat of an opponent's ace-jack when a jack fell on the flop.

Bye Bye Miss American Pie....

drove her {A-Spades} {J-Spades} to the leeve but the levee was dry.

There was a raise in front of Shannon Elizabeth before she moved all in with the above hand for 5,000 but was called by her opponent with {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. the board ran {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {K-Spades}.
