Pezzin's Not Going Anywhere Just Yet

A minor recovery for Pat Pezzin, who raised his small blind and got called by Chad Brown in the big.

Pezzin bet out on the {8-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {7-Hearts} flop and called a raise from Brown; they both then cagily checked down the {Q-Spades} turn and {8-Diamonds} river, at which point Pezzin discovered that his {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} had got lucky against Brown's {K-Spades} {9-Clubs}.

------

The next hand and Pezzin picked up a few more chips when he forced a fold from Greg Mueller on the turn of a {K-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {9-Clubs} board.

Pezzin's up to 960,000; Mueller's down to a very similar 1 million in chips.

The Tables Turn - Again

...And some more for Pezzin, whose short stack status apparently provoked him into action.

He raised it up from the small blind and got a call from Chad Brown in the big blind, and then bet out on the {9-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {2-Hearts} flop. Brown called and then it was his turn to be the aggressor -- Pezzin merely check-called Brown's bets on the {2-Diamonds} turn and {9-Diamonds} river.

Pezzin tabled {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds} for, well, just ace-high, but Brown couldn't beat it and Pezzin is up to 1.45 million. Mueller is now our short stack on 1 million straight.

You Pezzin Your Money...

...And right back down again for Pezzin.

Greg Mueller raised from the button and got a call from our friend Pezzin in the small blind.

Pezzin tried a check-raise on the {9-Clubs} {8-Spades} {5-Spades} flop, but thereafter eased off and just check-called Mueller's bets on the {K-Hearts} turn and {10-Spades} river. Mueller turned over {K-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} for two pair, and Pezzin just mucked, leaving himself 640,000.

Sue! Straight Flush for Mueller

Pat Pezzin raised from the button and got two callers -- family pot!

All three checked the {6-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {7-Diamonds} flop -- very friendly indeed.

They saw a {Q-Spades} turn all together, just like a real family, but this time Chad Brown spoiled the party and bet out. Greg Mueller decided to raise and short-stacked Pezzin ducked out of their way, but a call from Brown later and they were at the {4-Diamonds} turn.

Brown now checked and Mueller bet. Brown raised, Mueller reraised, Brown four-bet and Mueller capped it; Brown called. This is not what happy families do.

But fair enough, as Mueller turned over {3-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for the straight flush. Wow. Mueller took the pot and moved into the chip lead on 2.6 million; Brown meanwhile just shook his head sadly and mucked, as he dropped back to second place on 2.2 million.

Still Three-Way

This could go on for some time -- not only have the stacks evened up somewhat between Chad Brown and Greg Mueller, Pat Pezzin is doing his best to catch up too.

He raised his button and called a reraise from Chad Brown to see a {10-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} flop. Brown bet out and Pezzin raised; a call, and they saw a dangerous-looking {9-Hearts} turn. Both players checked, and Brown tried one last bet on the {4-Diamonds} river -- but his {A-Hearts} {10-Spades} was no good against Pezzin's {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts} and Pezzin is back up above the 1 million mark.

Pat Him Dry

Pat Pezzin raised out of the small blind and Brown called. He led out on the {7-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} flop and called a raise from Brown, but check-folded on the {5-Diamonds} turn. He has firmly established himself as the short stack on around 700,000 now, but anything can happen.
