Chopped Pot Between Ramos and Palevic

Richard Austin, Rifat Palevic, Sorel Mizzi , Dan Hindin all limped into the pot. Jetten completes in the small blind and Filipe Ramos checked his option.

The six players saw a of {9-Spades} {8-Hearts} {2-Spades} and action checked around.

The turn brought the 6d. Action checked to Rifat who bet 75,000. All other players folded their hands until Ramos announced a raise of 225,000 from the big blind.

Not afraid of the check raise, Palevic then reraised pot to 845,000. Ramos called all in.

Ramos: {K-Hearts} {J-Spades} {10-Spades} {7-Hearts}
Palevic: {K-Spades} {10-Hearts} {7-Spades} {6-Hearts}

Both players had the straight, but Palevic was redrawing to the better spade flush.

The river was a blank in the {8-Diamonds} , resulting in a chopped pot.

Ramos - 590,000
Palevich - 1,120,000

Mizzi Wins a Small Pot

Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi
Palevic and Mizzi both limp in from early position and Austin checks his option in the big blind.

The flop came {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Action checked to Sorel who bet 40,000. Austin got out of the way and Palevic made the call. The turn brought the {J-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and both players checked it down.

Palevic: {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}
Mizzi: {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {2-Hearts}

Sorel takes the small pot with a pair of aces.

Samuel Ngai Eliminated in 9th Place ($43,539)

Samuel Ngai - 9th Place
Samuel Ngai - 9th Place
The action developed very quickly between Van Marcus and Samuel Ngai. Marcus opened with a pot-sized raise to 84,000. Ngai was next to act and called "re-pot", which was enough to put himself all in. All other passed to Marcus, who quickly called.

Marcus: {A-Hearts} {A-Spades} {7-Clubs} {6-Hearts}
Ngai: {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {10-Hearts}

Single-suited aces for Marcus against single-suited kings for Ngai. The board rolled out a relatively benign {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {j-Clubs}. Marcus dragged the pot with jacks full of aces; Ngai headed for the cage to collect $43,539.

The Van is Rolling

Van Marcus
Van Marcus
Van Marcus' new-found chips are giving him some ammunition to fire at pots. After Cliff Josephy opened for 70,000 and was called by Sorel Mizzi, Marcus called a pot-sized reraise (316,000 by our gorilla math). Josephy and Mizzi quickly folded.

Spectators

Gary Benson and Sam Khouiss are here in support of one of their own, Aussie Van Marcus. We also see Team PokerStars Pro Maria "Maridu" Mayrinck, presumably here to cheer on fellow countryman Felipe Ramos.

Peter Jetten Eliminated in 8th Place ($48,112)

Peter Jetten - 8th Place
Peter Jetten - 8th Place
Richard Austin limped into the pot from early position. Dan Hindin and Van Marcus also called. Jetten completes from the small blind and Ramos checks his option.

The flop came {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} and action checked around. The turn brought the {10-Diamonds}. Jetten bet 100,000 from the small blind. Ramos folded from the big blind and Austin reraised to 350,000. Dan Hindin and Van Marcus both got out of the way.

Action was back on Peter Jetten, who moved all in after about 20 seconds of thought. Austin called.

Austin: {10-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {8-Hearts}
Jetten: {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} {4-Clubs}

The river brings the {9-Hearts} allowing Austin's top set to hold.

He wins the pot and eliminates Peter Jetten in 8th place.

Small, Cautious Pots

Small ball pots are the name of the game today. We can't tell you how many pots have been limped four-, five- or six-ways. With only seven players still at the table, it was another five-way limp on a flop of {2-Spades} {j-Hearts} {k-Diamonds}. When the turn fell {k-Clubs}, small blind Cliff Josephy led out for 60,000. Rifat Palevic was the only caller.

On the river {8-Diamonds} Josephy fired again, this time for 120,000 chips. That bet produced a fold from Palevic, allowing Josephy to win the pot.

Richard Austin Attacks A Weak Bet From Palevic

Richard Austin
Richard Austin
Filipe Ramos limped from late position as did Richard Austin from the button. Rifate raises pot (about 120,000) from the small big blind and both Ramos and Austin called. The flop came {J-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} . Rifat Palevic took his time before betting 90,000. Ramos mucked his hand and Austin immediately raises pot (618,000).

Rifat folded his hand and Austin wins the pot.
