Mizzi Gets Maximum Value

The Table of Death, Table 62, just saw Isaac Baron's stack take a dive. He was one of four players in the hand for a flop of {A-Spades} {8-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}. Action checked to Sorel Mizzi, who led out for about 10,000. Baron called in position.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds}. Mizzi fired a second bullet, this time for 21,000. Again Baron called. When the river fell {Q-Clubs}, Mizzi put 35,000 chips into the pot. This time it took Baron longer before sliding a call into the middle. Mizzi turned up {A-Clubs} {8-Spades} {J-Clubs} {6-Clubs} eights full of aces for the flopped full house. It was good.

Mizzi's count is now roughly 252,000. Baron is down to 230,000.

A Boost for BoostedJ

Justin "BoostedJ" Smith recently doubled through Steve Sarrafzadeh. David "Devilfish" Ulliott was also in the pot for a flop of {10-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {4-Diamonds}. Action checked to Smith, who moved all in for 28,000. Sarrafzadeh called with {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}. He was behind Smith's two pair, {10-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}. The turn {Q-Hearts} helped neither player; the river {7-Clubs} gave Smith an unnecessary third pair.

Smith is up to 87,000, while Sarrafzadeh has fallen back to 117,000.

Dario Alioto Eliminated

Dario Alioto
Dario Alioto
After a flop of {8-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} Dario Alioto bet 20,000 and Ralph Perry raised to 60,000. Alioto moved all in for a few thousand more and Perry made the call.

Perry: {K-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {10-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} for the nut straight, and redraws to a higher straight and king high flush.
Alioto: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} for the same nut straight as Perry.

The board fills out {8-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {7-Spades} giving Perry a straight to the jack and the pot.

Dario Alioto - eliminated
Ralph Perry - 265,000

So Many Outs!

It was a four-way limped pot that ended Marcel Luske's tournament. He was in there along with Cliff Josephy, Michael Watson and Isaac Baron. Action checked to Luske on a flop of {9-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}. His pot bet was called only by Josephy.

When the turn fell {10-Hearts}, Luske moved all in for his last 10,000. Again Josephy called, taking us to showdown:

Josephy: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {2-Hearts}
Luske: {K-Diamonds} {j-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {4-Diamonds}

It was two pair for Josephy, fours and deuces, against a big draw for Luske. Luske had a flush draw, a straight draw and several bigger two-pair draws. He missed everything with the {6-Spades} river, shook a few hands, and left.
