Marc Naalden was heads-up to a flop. His bet was raised and he called to see a turn. Both players checked it through to the river where Naalden bet and was called. He then threw his cards towards the muck but was made to show his losing . His opponent had tabled for the pot.
An enormous crowd has formed at the rail, many of them wielding cameras, largely because Daniel Negreanu has been moved over there. He's cheerfully chatting to a very lovely, very leggy railer lady whose short shorts accentuate her assets, while a bunch of poker fans take photos of his back. Very odd.
A preflop raising war just broke out between Daniel Negreanu and an UTG player where all the chips ended up in the middle. Negreanu opened to the UTG's .
The board ran . The river caught the UTG player to save their tournament life and knock Kid Poker back to 44,000.
There was a lot of action preflop before Phil Hellmuth got the last of his chips in on a flop. He had a willing opponent in Diego Cordovez, who had flopped top two pair with . Hellmuth was behind with but had outs as they went to the turn and river!!
Hellmuth got there with the flush and doubled to 30,000. Cordovez knocked back a little to 40,000.
Most of the damage was done when Phil Hellmuth raised under the gun and Sands reraised preflop. Hellmuth check-called Sands' bets on the X flop and turn, and then bet out on the river. Sands called, but his his pocket queens were no good against Hellmuth's for the rivered straight. Ouch.
A couple hands later and Hellmuth finished him off. Down to just 2,400, Sands got it in under the gun with and it folded around to Hellmuth in the small blind who raised with . The big blind folded. On their backs:
Board:
Hellmuth made himself another straight for good measure, and Sands slips through our fingers while Hellmuth is on around 55,000.
Andreas Martens is up to 70,000 after finding himself in the big blind and calling an under the gun raise.
He and Mr. Under The Gun saw a flop, which they both absolutely loved. Martens checked, Mr. Under The Gun bet, Martens raised, Mr. Under The Gun reraised, and Martens called.
Martens merely check-called the turn and both checked the river. The cards were shown and it was Martens' pocket that was just ahead of Mr. Under The Gun's pocket to take the pot.
Mike Thorpe raised in late position and Phil Hellmuth called in the big blind to see a flop. Hellmuth checked and then swiftly folded to a bet from Thorpe.
Thorpe: up to 67,000
Hellmuth: a mere dip down to 47,000
