Event 53 Starts at 5pm

Good morning, and welcome back to the cavernous confines of the Brasilia Room where very shortly Event 53 will be getting underway.

Only 128 runners are registered so far, but there's plenty of time yet for all the cool kids to get their late registrations in, so expect the field to bloom into something much more unmanageable yet.

See you at 5pm!

Who's Here On Time?

An impressive field already for this event, featuring the following players who managed to make it out of their respective beds for a 5pm start:

- Mark Gregorich
- Alex Kravchenko
- Matt Burgoine
- Allen Kessler
- Al Barbieri
- Perry Friedman
- Robert Mizrachi
- Mel Judah
- Paul Parker
- Michael Keiner
- Jimmy Fricke
- Mike Longo and his assorted toy alligators
- Annie Duke
- Bryan Devonshire, eating a salad that looks much nicer than the ones available to us at the Poker Kitchen
- Steve Jelinek
- David Rabbi
- Chad Brown
- Carol Kline

Crazy Tables Anticipated

It looks as though a seemingly tiny rule change could have an interesting effect on the make-up of the tables later in the day.

Previously any latecomers would be squashed together with some players who'd been there at the start; now, though, the latecomers will be put on new tables with other latecomers.

Given the preponderance of big names who like to saunter in right at the end of level 2, we could be in for some awesome Tables Of Doom come breaktime and beyond...

High Poker Fashions

Outfit Of The Day so far, one gentleman has turned up for this tournament wearing a waistcoat apparently made of an entire alligator -- with matching boots. Good on that man.

Where's Lisandro?

Perhaps he feels like he should give someone else a chance in a stud event this Series, but so far there's been no sign of three-time bracelet winner so far this year Jeff Lisandro. Maybe he'll make it in later...

422 and Rising

As expected, numbers have gone through the Brasilia Room roof already -- we're up to 422 so far, and if many more turn up we're going to have to find us some more tables from somewhere.
