Game On

Tournament Director Jack Effel has instructed the dealers to shuffle up and deal, and the first hands of Day 7 are being dealt on our eight tables.

The Secondary Feature Table

Here's how things are stacking up over on the secondary feature table to begin the day. The nine hole is empty, but should be filled up shortly and we'll let you know who drops in.

Seat 1: Jeff Shulman (4,745,000) has over 1.3 million in career tournament earnings and making his 14th WSOP cash. In 2000, Shulman finished 7th in the Main Event and 31st in the 2003.

Seat 2: Scott Cook (3,095,000) has just over $15,000 in career tournament earnings and is making his second WSOP cash.

Seat 3: Jonathan Tamayo (2,680,000) has nearly $190,000 in career tournament earnings and seven prvious cashes at the WSOP. His biggest cash and best finish came last year when he placed second in the $1,500 Mixed Hold'em event.

Seat 4: Leo Margets (3,650,000) is the only woman left in the Main Event. She has under $10,000 in career tournament earnings and no previous WSOP cashes.

Seat 5: Jason Brice (2,825,000) has over $200,000 in career tournament earnings and two previous WSOP cashes. This is his first cash in the Main Event.

Seat 6: Grayson Ramage (1,215,000) has two WSOP cashes on his resume totaling under $10,000. Both cashes came this year.

Seat 7: Andrew Lichtenberger (3,190,000) has over $370,000 in career tournament winnings. He has four WSOP cashes prior to this Main Event, all coming this year. Lichtenberger finished second in the $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout for over $215,000 this WSOP.

Seat 8: Scott Bohlman (865,000) has over $575,000 in tournament earnings and 14 prior WSOP cashes. His best Main Event finish was back in 2005 where he placed 216th. Bohlman also made a final table earlier in the Series this year, finishing 3rd.

Meet and Greet

While we were waiting for all of the players to fill out their bio sheets for ESPN before the start of play, several of the players were milling around and chatting with each other. Joe Sebok and Dennis Phillips had a lengthy conversation by the rail. They were eventually joined by Phil Ivey.

Ivey was dressed in a button-down shirt that was trailing out from under an over-sized PokerRoad sweatshirt. Sebok and Amanda Leatherman decided it wasn't a good look and Sebok went to retrieve a PokerRoad patch from his bag while Leatherman instructed Ivey to lose the sweatshirt. They got Ivey situated and sent him on his way.

"I'm not his mother," joked Sebok.

"It feels that way sometimes," Leatherman agreed.

Phillips, meanwhile, trailed after Ivey and asked Ivey to sign the red St. Louis Cardinals cap that Phillips was wearing, which already had several signatures on it. "I'm going to auction it off for charity," Phillips told Ivey. Ivey graciously agreed to sign the hat for Phillips.

Early Victory for Vedes

Tommy Vedes raised to 130,000 from middle position, Phil Ivey called from the cutoff, and Ludovic Lacay called as well from the button. The blinds got out of the way, and the flop came {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}. It checked to Lacay who bet 300,000, Vedes called, and Ivey folded.

The turn brought the {A-Hearts}, and both players checked. The river came the {A-Clubs}. Vedes fired out a bet of 440,000, and Lacay let it go.

Vedes has 5.1 million, and Lacay 5.5 million.
