No Rebuys?

Even though there are no rebuys slated on the schedule this year, the players are playing this tournament like it is a rebuy -- with limitations of course. Many players in the field today have opted to use one bullet at a time instead of using two or three of them at once.

Level: 2

Blinds: 50/100

Ante: 25

Mortensen Rebuys

Juan Carlos Mortensen used his second bullet to reload to 2,500 after busting recently. Mortensen moved in for 725 and was called by one opponent. Carlos stood pat while his opponent drew one card.

First, the player turned up the card he drew and it was a {7-?}. Then, he announced, "Eight-seven low," and turned up {8-?} {7-?} {6-?} {5-?} {3-?}. Carlos mucked and reloaded.

GobboBoy in Action

John Phan
John Phan
After John "The Razor" Phan raised to 400 from early position, Jimmy Fricke reraised all in for 2,625 total. Action got back around to Phan and he took a moment before mucking. "Let's gamble next hand," he said.

On the very next hand, Phan opened for 450 from under the gun. When action got over to Fricke, he moved all in once again, this time for 3,150 total. "You're crazy, Jimmy," said Phan. He then called and stood pat. Fricke drew one card.

Phan revealed {10-?} {9-?} {8-?} {7-?} {5-?} for a ten-nine low. Fricke drew an {8-?} to go along with his {9-?} {6-?} {5-?} {3-?} to make a nine-eight low and the best hand. He is now over 6,500 chips.
