Clock Paused, Seven Hands Remain

The tournament staff has paused the clock with 10 minutes left and have announced that the players will all play exactly seven more hands. Once the seven hands are complete, everyone will bag and tag their chips and we'll come back tomorrow.

Stud Concern

With the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud World Championship going on down the hall in the Amazon room, a handful of players here are concerned about who is still in the event and how it's going. The players keep asking Barry Greenstein for updates, which he is getting from his phone every so often.

Wrap It Up

Layne Flack is one of the big stacks coming out of Day 1
Layne Flack is one of the big stacks coming out of Day 1
Event #8, $2,500 No-Limit Deuce-to-Seven Lowball, began with 147 entrants and some of the biggest names in poker. Top professionals such as Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Chau Giang, Mike Caro, Jen Harman, and Allen Cunningham were some of the victims during today's play, but after it was all said and done, 35 players are returning tomorrow.

Among the 35 players returning tomorrow are Phil Ivey, Erick Lindgren, Freddy Deeb, John Juanda, Erik Seidel, and Barry Greenstein. Layne Flack, Lindgren, George Danzer, and Phil Hellmuth all hold around the same amount of chips and could easily come out as the chip leader from Day 1 once everything is officially counted. Mike Peltekci is also yielding a nice stack size as the day comes to a close.

Play is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 2:00 PM local time. The plan for tomorrow is to grind our way down until the final table is set.

We'll see you all back here tomorrow for all the live coverage of Event #8.
