Raphael Zimmerman raised to 3,500 from under the gun. Action folded over to Phil Hellmuth in the big blind and he moved all in for 18,500. Zimmerman made the call. Both players then drew one card.
Zimmerman showed and drew a . Hellmuth showed and knew he was drawing dead. His draw card was a . Hellmuth jerked himself up from his seat while the massage therapist was quick to get out of the way so she wouldn't get knocked over. Hellmuth stood and stared at the middle of the table for a minute before Tony G looked over.
"What! What happened? Did you bust, Phil?" said Tony. "Oh no, take a picture, quick"
"I don't want to hear it, Tony," Phil said. "You can stop trying to get attention, there's no press around, Tony." He went on to say, "I just bubbled, I don't want to hear it right now."
Tony G stood up and walked over by Phil's table, "No, the good news is you didn't bubble, I'm going to bubble. If you wait, you'll see it, and we can hold hands and walk out together."
Phil tossed his jacket on and collected his belongings before exiting the room, finishing just two spots off the money.
John Monnette raised to 3,500 from early position and Freedy Deeb called from the cutoff. Daniel Alaei called all in for 3,400.
Monnette drew two, Deeb stood pat, and Alaei drew one. Deeb bested Monnette in the side pot with . Alaei then bested Deeb in the main pot when he drew to a . He is now up to over 14,000 chips.
The two short stacks in the room, Barry Greenstein and Daniel Alaei have been moving in here and there in pre-draw action to try and take down the blinds and antes. Greenstein seems to be looking for a call as he told Freedy Deeb, "I'm too old to try to steal anymore."
The clock has been stopped for a while now, ever since we reached the completion of this level. The tournament staff paused the clock because we will stay on this current blind level until the bubble has burst. This could take another few minutes, a half an hour, or an hour, who knows. One thing is for certain, this doesn't cause the shorter stacks to lose ground as the blinds raise.
This will also delay the dinner break. Dinner is scheduled for after level 12. The longer the bubble goes, the longer we will stay on level 11, and the longer we have to stay hungry.
Daniel Alaei was short stacked for most of the time on the bubble. Him and Barry Greenstein were the two shortest stacks in the room and fighting it out to make it to the money.
Alaei moved all in and was called my Michael Karman. Alaei showed , but was bested by Karman's . Alaei was eliminated on the hand and is the official bubble boy of the tournament. All the players are now in the money.
Erick Lindgren opened the action with a raise to 4,500. Phil Ivey flat-called on the button and then Yan Chen called out of the small blind. Chen drew one, Lindgren drew two, and Ivey drew one.
Action checked to Ivey after the draw and he fired all in. Chen folded and then Lindgren took a few moments to think about things. Lindgren eventually folded and Ivey scooped the pot to move up to 40,000 chips.
Recently, a couple of crazy fans have ducked under the ropes and have been begging for photos with Erick Lindgren and Phil Ivey. The fans seem a tad bit intoxicated. The man was able to grab one photo with Lindgren and with Mike Sexton, who is standing on the rail watching. The woman has been trying to contain her boyfriend from bugging the players while they are in action, but the man has been trying to grab as many pictures as he can. Eventually, the floor came over repremanded the group and a security guard has been placed along the ropes.
