Table of Instantaneous Death

We hinted at it earlier, but we only just now got a chance to go check on the new faces at that "table near the stage". There's really nothing that can be said about this table, one of the new ones in our field coming back from the break, so we'll let the table draw do the talking.

Table 46
Seat 1: Unknown
Seat 2: Shannon Elizabeth
Seat 3: Dan Heimiller
Seat 4: --empty--
Seat 5: Chris Ferguson
Seat 6: JJ Liu
Seat 7: David Williams
Seat 8: Brandon Adams (after an extremely unlucky table break)
Seat 9: Ahston Griffin
Seat 10: Alex Bolotin

There is a registration card in front of the vacant Seat 4, and it belongs to none other than Phil Hellmuth. Whoever the poor gentleman is in the one seat, he must be feeling pretty miserable to have joined this group of late registrants.

Kravchenko KOd

Russell Rosenblum and Alex Kravchenko tangled up in a preflop raising war that left Al Krav all in and flipping for double or nothing.

Rosenblum: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}
Kravchenko: {A-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

The board was a big dry desert for the at-risk Kravchenko, running out {8-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {6-Spades} {3-Spades}. He's been eliminated, and Rosenblum has climbed to 30,500.

Froehlich Runs Queens Into Kings

Eric Froehlich, not too happy about that hand
Eric Froehlich, not too happy about that hand

Eric Froehlich opened with a raise to 400 from under the gun and found one caller in middle position before Brian Rast made it 1,750 to go from the big blind. Froehlich made the call as the third player stepped aside.

The flop landed {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Rast led out for 2,700. Froehlich made the call. The turn was the {10-Spades} and Rast fired again for 6,000. Froehlich announced a raise which was big enough to put Rast all in. He obliged with a call and the cards were on their backs:

Froehlich: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Rast: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The river was the the {A-Hearts} and Rast's kings hold up to collect the huge pot to climb to 46,800. Froehlich is left with 7,800.

Greenstein Joins Sebok

Joe Sebok - Disciplined. Focused.
Joe Sebok - Disciplined. Focused.

After a recent table break, Team PokerStars Pro Barry Greenstein has been relocated to the table of his son Joe Sebok.

After Sebok folded preflop he turned to Greenstein and commented, "You see? This is how your son plays. Disciplined. Focused."

Sebok has a slight chip lead over his dad, with Greenstein on 14,400 and Sebok at 17,800.

Maimone Moves Out

Nick "FU_15" Maimone had a great start to his day, but he's out after two back-to-back hands went poorly for him.

On the first, we walked up to see Amnon Filippi move all in for 12,450 on a board of {A-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {J-Diamonds}. Maimone made the call for nearly all of his own chips, and he would not like the result. Despite having "turned the nuts" as he said, Filippi won the hand with {8-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds}, rivering the flush to knock Maimone down to just 1,700.

On the next hand, Maimone got his money in good with {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} against Josh Tieman's {K-Clubs} {J-Clubs}, and things looked rosy through the {K-Spades} {8-Spades} {7-Clubs} flop. The turn {J-Hearts} was a disaster, though, and the river {J-Diamonds} added a little insult to injury as Maimone headed for the door.

Medic Finds a Club, Beats Baker

Nenad Medic was all in against David Baker by the time we walked up to a turned board showing {6-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}, and both players held ace-queen. It was a dangerous situation for Baker, though, as Medic's {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} was on a flush draw and freerolling for the pot.

Sure enough, the river came the {7-Clubs}, filling in that flush and doubling The Serb up to about 22,000.

Baker is down to 6,400.

Kevin Saul Down, Out

Kevin Saul - Out
Kevin Saul - Out

Raj "BadCardsAA" Vohra tracked us down and told us about this hand. He raised to 400 and found three callers.

The flop came down {8-} {7-} {3-}, and Vohra continued out with a bet of 1,100. Two of his opponent called this time, while the third ducked out of the way.

The turn was a repeat {3-}, and Vohra knocked the table. Kevin Saul fired out 2,100, drawing a raise to 5,100 from Vohra and scaring the third player out of the pot. Saul called the additional amount to see the last card.

It was a {6-}, and Saul called one last bet of 6,500. Vohra turned up pocket aces, and Saul slid his cards into the muck, unable to beat that hand. That crippled Saul, and he was eliminated a few hands later.

Vohra is up to 29,000.
