Lindgren Leaves Early

Erick Lindgren was sitting to Eli Elezra's left -- before he left.
Erick Lindgren was sitting to Eli Elezra's left -- before he left.

Among our early casualties here today are Soheil Shamseddin and Erick Lindgren. Out of chips, Lindgren was seen making his way over to Erica Schoenberg where he simply explained, "I lost my fourth all in."

We did manage to snap a pic of E-Dog before he left us, however, sitting with Eli Elezra.

Deeb Doubles Opponent

With about 1,600 in the pot and a board reading {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}, Shaun Deeb bet 1,100 only to have Seat 6 move all in for 300 more. Everyone else folded back to Deeb who made the call.

Deeb: {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Seat 6: {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

When the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn, Deeb grabbed the chips and tossed them over to Seat 6. "Run better fish," Deeb said whithout being clear whether he was talking about himself or Seat 6, although it appeared to be the former.

Deeb is still sitting with 2,100 and two rebuy chips.

Experienced Table

With the end of the last break came the end of the event's registration; as such, a number of new players have made their way into the tournament. A new table was opened for some of the late players and what a table it is.

Currently, Table 64 is home to Lyle Berman, Phil Galfond, Freddy Deeb, and Erik Seidel. Unfortunately the table probably won't last too long since it will be among the first to break as players are eliminated.

Math Only Part of the Game

Dan Heimiller
Dan Heimiller

Dan Heimiller arrived a little while ago, taking a seat to Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy's right. Just now he was asking the table about the add-on chips. Heimiller recently played in Event No. 19 -- the $10,000 Deuce-to-Seven Draw Lowball championship -- which was also played using this rebuy-like format.

Here Heimiller was confused, because the add-on (2,000) is actually more than the starting stack (1,500), whereas in Event No. 19 the players began with 7,500 then had three 7,500 add-on chips.

Josephy offered to explain. "1,500 plus three 2,000 chips... that's 7,500," he said.

"You're right," smiled Heimiller.

"How do you win at poker, Dan?" cracked Josephy.

However he does it, Heimiller has done some winning today, pushing his stack to 7,000 while still having one of those add-on chips behind. Josephy meanwhile is sitting with 4,850 with no add-ons left.

Lichtenberger in the Field

Andrew Lichtenberger raised to 275 from the cutoff and was called by both the small and big blind. The three saw a flop of {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and all decided to check.

When the {K-Spades} hit the turn, the small blind bet 550 and the big blind folded. Lichtenberger gave it some thought but tossed in his cards. He is currently sitting with 7,100, having used all his rebuy chips.

Sexton Steps Aside

Three players limped, and both blinds came along, too, including Mike Sexton in the small blind. The flop came {9-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, and it checked all of the way around. The turn was the {5-Hearts}, and this time Sexton bet 300, getting just one caller in middle position.

The river brought the {9-Clubs}, pairing the board. Sexton checked, and his opponent fired out a bet of 1,000. The Ambassador of Poker nodded as if expecting as much, rechecked his cards, and mucked.

Sexton has used his add-ons, and has 6,800 at present.

Team PokerStars Dominating Table 17

Table 17 is home to three Team PokerStars Pros. In Seat 1 is Team Pro USA member and 1983 Main Event champ, Tom McEvoy, who is currently sitting with 2,600 and two rebuy chips.

Seat 4 is occupied by Team Pro USA member Gavin Griffin, who has used all his rebuy chips and boasts a stack of 19,000!

At the other end of the table in Seat 10 sits Bertrand Grospellier of Team Pro France, who has also used all his rebuy chips and now sits with around 8,400.
