Mo' Money

We are down to 369 players already, meaning that we've made our first money jump - everyone still in the tournament is now guaranteed $2,150.

The TDs have decided that this would be a great time to go on break. Level 2 will happen shortly, and there'll just be a 10 minute break after that.

Deck is Kind to Vitkind

We found Dmitry Vitkind moving in for 24,000 on the turn of a {2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} board. He sat there looking very alert, while his buddy and fellow Dmitry, Dmitry Stelmak, stood behind his chair like a relatively harmless bodyguard.

Eventually Vitkind's opponent, who'd spent a while stacking a re-stacking chips, announced call. He turned over {a-}{9-} for a pair of nines, but Vitkind triumphantly tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a higher pair. The river was a blank {10-Diamonds} and Vitkind doubled to what looked like a huge pile of unstacked random chips even five minutes later, but we suspect was well over 60,000.

Paging James Farley

James Farley left the tournament area during the bubble thinking that he was the bubble boy himself.

Farley was partially right because his stack did burst the bubble of the first pay level, but there is still $1,877 with his name on it at the cage.

We hope Mr. Farley returns to collect his earnings.

Taking It Bryan Down

We don't know the exact circumstances, but Bryan Devonshire is presumably busted as he was spotted limping over to the payout desk on what we think was a broken leg.

We do not think this tournament and the broken leg are connected.

Aces No Good for Minneapolis Jim

Minneapolis Jim Meehan was all-in preflop holding {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} against an opponent's {Q-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

The {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop gave his opponent a pair and after a blank ({2-Clubs}) on the turn, the river brought another jack, the {J-Diamonds}, crippling Meehan to just 700 chips.

The next hand Minneapolis Jim tossed his last 700 in from under the gun, a player in middle position isolated to 2,400 and the big blind called. The two checked every street and the board ran {K-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Meehan showed {K-Spades}{8-Spades} for top pair, but the player in middle position tabled {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for a rivered four flush eliminating Minneapolis Jim from the tournament.

What About Those Guys?

You remember our big stacks at the start of the day? We have not forgotten them.

They've had a mixed sort of day, but none of them are in any particular trouble so far.

On the Up

Nancy Todd Tyner - over 150,00
Terry Fleischer - 130,000

A Little Down

Braxton Dunaway - 80,000
TJ Boytor - 75,000
Thomas Joanides - 70,000
Joe Elpayaa - 70,000

Supa Suckout for Dohmen

Cyriel "supa4real" Dohmen is now above 100,000 chips thanks to fortuitous flop.

An opponent at his table moved all-in from middle position and Dohmen called in the big blind with {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. His opponent had him dominated with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, but the {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop changed that quickly.

The {4-Hearts} on the turn made it a good sweat, but the {10-Clubs} on the river was a brick sending Dohmen's opponent to the rail.

May the Faure Be With You

We only the very tail end of this three-way showdown, but by the timbre of the "Oooh!"s on the river, our guess would be that the chips all went in preflop.

Lisa Parsons: {a-}{7-}
Player 2: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Allan Faure: {k-}{k-}

Board: {10-}{9-}{4-}{a-}{k-}

Parsons busted out, Player 2 was left with mere shrapnel, and Faure picked up a chunky pot to put him up to a shade under 40,000.
