Tom McEvoy was involved in a three-way pot with a flop reading . He was checked to in the big blind and fired a bet of 150, encouraging the cutoff and small blind to fold.
However, McEvoy lost those chips in the next hand when he called a bet of 150 on a board reading . His opponent showed and McEvoy mucked.
We didn't catch a bust hand, but Johnny Hale's seat is empty and there are no chips in sight. We're left to assume he's been eliminated from the tournament.
We've had a few people just pop up on our radars after late registration. Dewey Tomko, Tom Schneider and David Sklansky have all been spotted at the tables as of late.
Dennis Phillips raised to 300 preflop and got called by the player in the big blind. When the flop came , the big blind checked and Phillips bet 525. At that point the big blind raised it to 1,525 and Phillips called.
The turn fell and both players checked. They would do the same on the river.
When all the action was complete, Phillips' opponent said "Just jacks." Meanwhile Phillips tabled for top pair and took down the pot.
On a board reading , a man calling himself David "The Toy Man" Cohen moved all in, but not before hitting a button that played a drum roll with an orchestra behind it.
Cohen got one call and turned up which were able to stay ahead of his caller's .
He's one of our more entertaining players today with a chest full of toys and a full rotation of colorfully themed hats.
Since busting in this event Barry Shulman has moved on and has been spotting playing some $50/100 Omaha hi-lo. Looks like he wasn't depending on cashing today's event to pay for groceries.
