Lefew Gets More

Benjamin Lefew went heads up to a {k-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop with Darian Yashar. When his opponent checked to him, Lefew bet 4,000. Yashar then check-raised to 14,000, leaving himself around 20,000 behind. Lefew asked him how much he was playing, then moved all in. Yashar wasn't happy about it. He'd thought for less than two minutes before Lefew called the clock on him. Just as time was running out, Yashar called with {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush draw. Lefew was ahead with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. The turn brought the safe {6-Spades}, and the river came the {k-Spades}, giving Lefew top two. Yashar was sent off to the payout desk, while Lefew is up to 110,000.

Marco Traniello Eliminated Just into the Money

Marco Traniello
Marco Traniello

Marco Traniello had about 10,000 chips when he shoved them all into the middle. He was called by Roy Gonzales in the small blind, and Traniello stood up, not liking what he saw.

Gonzales: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Traniello: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The flop was a brutal {3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Traniello started to pack his things. The {8-Clubs} on the turn cemented his fate further, and it was all over when the {2-Hearts} came on the river.

It wasn't bad news for everyone, though. Gonzales is now up to 100,000 chips.

D'Angelo Offering Doubles

Action was off to a preflop flurry when a player in middle position raised to 2,000 with Ryan D'Angelo three-betting to 4,200. A woman on the button was nursing a stack of 12,000 and she went all in with a four-bet. The initial raiser folded, but D'Angelo made the call.

D'Angelo: {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Button: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

D'Angelo wasn't able to find any of his outs as the board ran out {6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

D'Angelo is still sitting pretty with well over 100,000 while our short-stacked player is up to 25,000.

Payouts Beckon for Becker

Mike Becker was in the big blind with 600 chips behind when he called us over. "I'm probably going to bust on this hand if you want to write about that." Action folded to Shawn Buchanan in the small blind, and he put Becker all in. Neither player had looked at their hands yet when they flipped them up. Becker's {j-Clubs}{6-Hearts} ahd Buchanan's {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} crushed. The board came out {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}, and Becker more than doubled up. He jokingly celebrated the start of his big comeback with the table.

It didn't last too long though. The next hand, when it folded around to Buchanan on the button. He raised, and Becker went all in. The short stack wasn't able to survive two hands in a row, and he bid his table farewell on his way to the cashier.

Four-Betting is the new Three-Betting

A player at David Sands' table had limped in, but folded after another player raised to 3,000 and Sands three-bet to 7,700. Once the limper was out of the way, the original raiser moved all in for 37,000 and Sands made the call.

Sands: {a-}{k-}
Opponent: {q-}{q-}

Sands' was no longer looking to pair his overcards after the flop of {q-}{9-}{10-} and after the turn and river bricked with Sands missing his straight-draw. Sands has now slipped to 70,000 chips.

Tufat Getting Thinner

The under-the-gun player limped, and Andrew "Tufat" Teng overlimped from middle position. The cutoff and both blinds came along to see a {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop five-handed. Action checked to Tufat, who bet 2,300. The cutoff flat called, and after the blinds folded, the first limper called as well. The turn brought the {7-Clubs}, and the player first to act checked again. Tufat asked the cutoff for a count before betting 8,700. The cutoff quickly moved all in for just 3,900 more. The third guy folded, and Tufat called the extra chips.

"Same hand?" asked the all-in player as he showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for the flopped nut straight. Tufat could only shake his head and show {q-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair. The {2-Hearts} on the river didn't fill Tufat's boat, and he fell to 38,000.
