Zak Gilbert: (mucked, with feeling) /
Opponent gentleman: /
Zak Gilbert, who finalled a stud event here last year, is not having a terribly good day.
He was already pretty short when we saw him get involved in a three-way pot. One player folded on fifth street, but Gilbert and one other player made it all the way to seventh street - they both checked on the river. Neither player wanted to be first to turn over his hand, and eventually Gilbert's opponent revealed a mere K-J-8-4-2 low. We didn't quite catch Gilbert's hand before he mucked, but we do know that it involved a third five.
Mickey Doft was dealt the bring in with the and he promptly put in the required 50. Action folded to the player in Seat 2 who completed to 200. Seat 3 then reraised to 400.
Action was back on Doft who wasted no time in conceding his bring in. Doft is playing it by the books for now and seems content to play patiently as he is sitting with 10,600.
A couple of players seem to be missing in action. Both Erick Lindgren and Phil Hellmuth have their registration cards placed at their assigned seats and are being anted off. Lindgren is already down to 5,250.
Barry Greenstein bet 200 on fourth street and received calls from both Seat 1 and Seat 5. When he bet again on fifth street, Seat 5 got out of the way and Seat 1 tagged along.
Both players checked sixth street and Greenstein squeezed out his last card. After having a look, he bet and Seat 1 made the call. Greenstein showed a 8-5-3-2-A low, which caused Seat 1 to muck. Greenstein took down the pot worth around 2,800 and is now sitting with close to 9,000.
