Robl Busto

Andrew Robl - 21st place
Andrew Robl - 21st place

Linda Johnson: {3-}{7-} / {2-}{q-}{a-}{6-} / {4-}
Andrew Robl: {6-}{2-} / {5-}{9-}{4-}{8-} / {7-}
Stuart Rutter: {7-}{6-} / {10-}{8-}{3-}{8-} / (mucked)

We only caught the very tail end of the hand, and the cards were as above. Andrew Robl was elminated, Linda Johnson upped her stack to 155,000, and Stuart Rutter, who'd moved into the chip lead, dropped a little to 255,000.

"I got lucky," said Johnson, "I won't lie."

Table neighbour David Chiu: "Nobody ever won a tournament who didn;t get lucky."

Chris Bjorin: "What about Phil Hellmuth?"

Everybody had a good laugh at that.

Chiu Crippled

David Chiu completed for 5,000 only to have Stuart Rutter bump it to 10,000.

Chiu made the call before calling down bets on fourth, fifth and sixth until seventh was checked.

Rutter: (X)(X) / {8-}{9-}{7-}{A-} / (X)
Chiu: (X)(X) / {2-}{K-}{8-}{4-} / (X)

Rutter tabled his {A-}{5-}{5-} for a nine-low while Chiu flashed a {4-} and mucked his hand while slipping to 21,000 as Rutter climbs to 310,000 in chips.

Chiu Chiu Train Derailed

David Chiu - 20th place
David Chiu - 20th place

Dee Tiller: (XXX) / {2-}{10-}{3-}{2-} - folded
David Chiu: {2-}{4-}{a-} / {8-}{7-}{a-}{q-}
Stuart Rutter: {q-}{6-}{2-} / {4-}{8-}{7-}{5-}

David Chiu was all in on fourth street, and Stuart Rutter continued betting on every street until Dee Tiller folded on seventh. Flipping the cards over, Chiu had made an 8-7-4-2-A low, but Rutter had made 7-6-5-4-2 to take the pot.

Chiu headed dejectedly for the payout room to collect his 20th place money. Rutter, meanwhile - who we know had a table booked at Vegas nightclub Pure tonight - is our big chip daddy on 330,000. We suspect that he will not be making it to the club tonight.

Ciao Dario

A domani Dario
A domani Dario

Dario Minieri was forced to bring in for 2,000 of his remaining 8,000-chip stack when dealt the {K-Spades}. Vladimir Schemelev completed to 5,000 and Minieri committed his remaining 6,000 as their boards ran out as follows.

Minieri: {9-}{2-} / {K-Spades}{J-}{3-}{10-}
Schemelev: {8-}{2-} / {4-}{6-}{A-}{Q-}

With Minieri drawing dead, the dealer didn't deal seventh street, but instead just pushed the pot to Schemelev.

Slowdown Time Again

After that little burst of action, play has slowed right back down again as the prospect of final two tables looms

There are a good few short stacks, though, so some craziness is inevitable before the night is out.

Klevanksy Doubles

Stuart Rutter completed for 6,000 only to have Morris Klevansky bump it to 12,000. Rutter made the call before putting Klevansky all in for his final 9,500 on fourth street as both player's boards ran out as follows:

Rutter: {A-}{6-} / {8-}{2-}{9-}{7-} / {Q-}
Klevanksy: {7-}{5-} / {4-}{6-}{2-}{9-} / {10-}

With Klevanksy's seven-six low being the best hand, he doubled through to 60,000 in chips.

Rutter Back in the Lead

Rutter - nutter
Rutter - nutter

We strolled by Stuart Rutter, and found him beaming over the top of his 347,000 chip-leading stack.

Guess you're not going to Pure tonight, we said to him.

"No," he admitted, "And I might not get up at 7am to watch the England game either."

The sacrifices a poker player makes.
