Bernard Lee Dominates and Doubles

Bernard Lee from yesterday's action
Bernard Lee from yesterday's action

An early-position player raised before Bernard Lee reraised from the big blind. The original raiser then moved all in and Lee made the call with {A-}{K-}. He was dominating his opponent's {A-}{Q-} and all in for a little over 30,000.

The board ran out {K-}{9-}{3-}{9-}{8-} and Lee made two pair to earn the double up. He now has just about 68,000 in chips and looking to turn his WSOP around with a deep run here in Event No. 42.

Fatima De-Busto

Fatima De Melo
Fatima De Melo

The strikingly gorgeous Fatima De Melo has unfortunately hit the rail.

Talking to a fellow table member, we were informed that after a limper, De Melo moved all in and was met with an all in from another player before the limper made the call to put them both at risk.

Limper: {A-}{K-}
De Melo: {Q-}{9-}
Opponent: {J-}{J-}

The players at the table had no real recollection of what fell on the board, but the end result was De Melo heading out the door.

Phillips Chipping Up

Andrew Newitt made it 4,500 from the cutoff and Carter Phillips just called from the button.

The flop came down {j-Spades}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Newitt bet 10,000. Phillips made the call and the turn brought the {6-Clubs}.

Newitt again bet, this time 14,000 and Phillips made the call.

On the river, the {2-Clubs} fell, and Newitt tossed in a bet of 18,000. Phillips made the call and showed {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} to take the pot from Newitt, who was holding {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Phillips is sitting behind a 205,000 chip stack, while Newitt now has 8,500.

Sowers Flushes

With around 34,000 in the pot and the board reading {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts} Marc Lome was all in against two opponents; one of which was Mike Sowers.

Sowers and the remaining active opponent checked the {7-Hearts} on the turn and the {9-Diamonds} on the river to see Sowers table his {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

His live opponent folded and Lome tabled his {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds} before mucking to see Sowers pushed the pot to move to 297,000 in chips.

Madsen Doubles

From the button, Alexander Burkart made it 4,000 to go. Jeff Madsen moved all his remaining chips in the middle from the big blind. Burkart made the call and the cards were flipped over.

Madsen: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}
Burkart: {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The board rolled out {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{k-Hearts} and Madsen doubled with ace-high to 22,000.

Sharbanee Surrenders

Paul Sharbanee
Paul Sharbanee

Paul Sharbanee moved all in for his last 7,400 from middle position, and with the action on Nathan Tuthill, he moved all in for roughly 60,000 from late position to prompt folds from the remaining players.

Sharbanee: {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Tuthill: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

The {J-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop put Tuthill in the lead and left Sharbanee outs to an ace or running cards for a straight or flush.

The {9-Spades} on the turn cut out all of Sharbanee's backdoor outs, and when the {10-Diamonds} landed on the river, he hit the rail.

Fortunately Sharbanee won't be going empty-handed as he is collecting $3,403 for his efforts to go along with his 199th placing in the previous $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event just a few days ago.

Hamrick Gets Morris

From early position, Dean Hamrick made it 3,500 to go. It folded around to Brian Morris in the big blind who moved all in for 13,500. Hamrick called and tabled {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}. Morris was flipping for his tournament life with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

Hamrick was sitting pretty when the flop came down {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{j-Hearts}. The turn, {9-Hearts} and river {j-Spades} were no help to Morris as he was sent to the payout desk. Hamrick is sitting on 83,000.

The turn added the {K-Hearts} to the board and Lee checked again. His opponent fired 12,000 and Lee made the call.

The river completed the board with the {2-Spades} and Lee opted to lead out. He fired a bet of 20,800 and his opponent made the call. Lee tabled the {K-Spades}{Q-Spades} for a spade flush and his opponent mucked, moving Lee up over the century mark to 112,000 in chips.

Ace-High For Ramage

Grayson Ramage opened to 3,600 and Aaron Gustavson made the call from the button to see a {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop fall and both players check.

The turn landed the {3-Diamonds} and Ramage checked and Gustavson fired out 5,500 with Ramage calling as the {7-Hearts} on the river went check, check.

Ramage tabled his {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} for ace-high and raked in the pot to move to 150,000 as Gustavson folded and slipped to 180,000 in chips.
