Chow Down

Omaha 8/b

Michael Chow had just 700 chips left, which wasn't even enough to cover his small blind. David Steicke raised from the cutoff and got called by Matthew Vengrin on the button, leaving a main pot of 2,800 for Chow.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Steicke bet with Vengrin calling. Both players checked the {9-Clubs} turn, and Steicke bet the {10-Diamonds} river with Vengrin thinking for a while before making the call.

Turns out Vengrin made a good call. Steicke mucked his hand before seeing Vengrin's hand, which was {4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Chow couldn't beat it and he mucked his cards as well.

Golser Gets Away From Queens

Stud

Marcus Golser: {q-}{q-} / {5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Alexander Wice: (X)(X) / {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

Wice got the hand off to a start by completing with Golser three-betting. The player who brought in folded and Wice called.

Golser bet on fourth street, getting a call from Wice. Both players checked fifth street, but Golser let his hand go when Wice paired his king on sixth street, folding his hand, which contained a pair of queens, face up.

Trips or Trips in Stud

Stud

Scott Seiver: (X)(X) / {9-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} / (X)
Marc Glickman: (X)(X) / {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{Q-Spades} / (X)

On third, Seiver completed and Glickman called. Seiver bet fourth and Glickman raised. Seiver called. Seiver then check-called and fifth and sixth. Both players finally checked seventh.

Glickman had two more queens in the hole to go along with his one showing for trip queens. Seiver had two tens in the hole for trip tens and he lost the pot.

Kassela Climbs Some More

Razz

Frank Kassela: (X)(X) / {5-}{8-}{8-}{A-} / (X)
Matt Venrgin: (X)(X) / {4-}{J-}{2-}{8-} / (X)

Kassela completed on third and Vengrin called. Kassela bet fourth as well and Vengrin called and then both players checked fifth. Kassela fired sixth and was called before both players checked on seventh. Kassela showed the {7-}{6-}{5-} from underneath to make a low of 8-7-6-5-A and win the pot. Vengrin mucked and dropped to 78,000 in chips. Kassela moved up to 57,000.

Minieri Doubles

Dario Minieri
Dario Minieri

Stud

Dario Minieri: {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}
John D'Agostino: {a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Spades} / {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

We caught up with this hand on fourth street when Minieri had bet and called a raise from D'Agostino. On fifth street the two switched roles with D'Agostino betting and calling a raise from Minieri. Minieri got it all in on sixth street after D'Agostino checked to him, with D'Agostino making the call.

Minieri's straight was ahead of D'Agostino's set, and while D'Agostino had a heap of outs, he bricked on the river. Minieri now has 46,000 chips while D'Agostino slipped to 38,000.

Morrison Takes Big Pot On Sixth Street

Stud

Kirk Morrison: (X)(X) / {8-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Alex Kamberis: (X)(X) / {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}

When we arrived at Kirk Morrison's table he had just called a fourth-street bet from Alex Kamberis. Things got heated on fifth street when Kamberis bet and then called a raise from Morrison.

Morrison finally took down the pot after betting on sixth street, leading Kamberis to fold. Morrison said that he was rolled up for the first time all evening on that hand.

Morrison is now up to 71,000 and Kamberis is down to 28,000.

Mizrachi Continues to Slip

No-Limit Hold'em

Michael Mizrachi had been near the top of the chip counts for much of the day, but has recently found himself falling in the standings.

He recently got involved in a hand against Daniel Ospina and we got to the table in time to see both players checking a flop of {j-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

When the {a-Hearts} came on the turn Mizrachi check-called a bet of 4,500 from Ospina and did the same, only for 7,000, on the {7-Clubs} river.

Ospina showed {a-Spades}{j-Spades} and Mizrachi mucked. After losing the hand, Mizrachi is down to 44,000 while Ospina is up to 70,000.

Aguiar Busts

No-Limit Hold'em

John Aguiar got it all in preflop when he raised for 16,100 under the gun with Michael Muldoon taking him up on the offer.

Aguiar: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Muldoon: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Aguiar was dominated but may have had seen some small glimmer of hope in the {5-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop. However the {q-Clubs} turn and the {6-Clubs} did him in and propelled Muldoon towards the top of the rankings.
