Michael Schneider Eliminated in 6th Place ($23,563)

Michael Schneider - 6th place
Michael Schneider - 6th place

Ben Yu opened his button with a raise. The extremely short-stacked Michael Schneider re-raised all in, with Yu making the call. They were racing -- Schneider's {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} against Yu's {7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Schneider started to gather his things after the flop came with a nine but no trey, {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}. The turn {j-Clubs} made things a little bleaker, and Schneider was eliminated with the river {5-Clubs}. He'll leave with $23,563 in prize money.

New Chip Leader

Brendan Taylor and Jonathan Little saw a flop of {2-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Little checked, Taylor bet, and Little raised. Taylor called and saw the {7-Clubs} hit the turn. Little bet and Taylor called.

When the {9-Clubs} came on the river, Little bet and Taylor raised. Little called but mucked when he saw Taylor's {J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Little dropped to 950,000 while Taylor is up to 1,300,000 and becomes the new chip leader.

Tate Doubles Up

Don't measure Brian Tate for a box just yet. He three-bet all in after Jon Little opened for a raise. Little called with {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, slightly behind Tate's {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Tate promptly paired his ace on a flop of {3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{8-Hearts}, giving himself almost no sweat. Little was drawing dead by the {4-Spades} turn.

Tate's up to about 200,000.

Brian Tate Eliminated in 5th Place ($33,276)

Brian Tate - 5th place
Brian Tate - 5th place

Brendan Taylor raised from the cutoff and Brian Tate three-bet from the small blind. Taylor made the call and the flop came down {J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}.

Tate bet and Taylor called. Tate then bet the {6-Hearts} on the turn and Taylor raised. Tate reraised and put himself all in. Taylor made the call and showed {J-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and was way ahead of Tate's {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. Tate needed to catch an ace on the river to stay alive but it was not meant to be as the dealer delivered the {10-Spades}.

Tate was eliminated from the tournament and will take home $33,276 for his efforts.

McGowan's Quads Double His Stack

Joe McGowan opened with a raise from under the gun. He was called only by big blind Ben Yu. The two players got in four bets on a flop of {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, enough to put McGowan all in. He was in the lead with a set of fours, {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, against Yu's top pair, {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Once again there was no sweat as the turn came -- BANG! -- the {4-Diamonds} for quads. Yu was drawing dead.
