Little Flushes Again

Jon Little and Sijbrand Maal were heads-up to a flop of {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Little checked it to the pre-flop aggressor Maal, who fired out a bet. Little raised and was called. The turn {8-Spades} put a third spade on board. Little bet and Maal called. There was no change on the {j-Spades} river. Again Little bet, again Maal called. Little turned up a flush, {9-Spades}{6-Spades}, which was the winner.

Taylor's Chips Disappearing

Ben Yu raised from middle position and Brendan Taylor reraised from the small blind. Yu made the call and the two saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

Taylor bet, Yu raised and Taylor called. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and it went check, bet, call. The same betting occurred on the {2-Diamonds} river and Yu turned up {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a flopped set. Taylor mucked and dropped to 147,000.

Thin to Win

Ben Yu raised from the small blind and was called by big blind Mike Schneider. Yu bet every street of a {2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} board. Schneidere called every step of the way, including the river. At showdown, Yu turned up an unimproved {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, but his ace-jack was enough to take down the pot after Schneider mucked.

McGowan Hits on the River

Joe McGowan was on the button and raised to 30,000. Jonathan Little reraised to 45,000 from the button and McGowan made the call.

The flop came down {2-Hearts}{A-Spades}{9-Spades} and Little bet. McGowan called and the same action took place when the {8-Diamonds} hit the turn. When the {7-Diamonds} came on the river, Little bet and McGowan raised.

Little seemed concerned but made the call. He flung his cards into the muck in frustration when he saw McGowan had made two pair on the river with {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. McGowan is up to 550,000 while Little falls to 664,000.

Yu Finds a Fold

Ben Yu was in the big blind and called a pre-flop raise made by Joseph McGowan. There was lots of action on an all-heart flop of {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Yu checked, then check-raised a McGowan bet. McGowan fired back with a re-raise that Yu called. Both players checked the {8-Diamonds} turn. When the river paired the board {7-Diamonds}, Yu bet, only to see McGowan raise him. Yu took about fifteen seconds before folding his hand.

Sijbrand Maal- 7th Place

Brian Tate four-bet preflop and Sijbrand Maal made the call. The flop came {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and Tate bet. Maal raised and a series of raises occurred until action was capped at 75,000.

When the {Q-Spades} hit the turn, Tate bet and Maal raised all in for 54,000 total. Tate called and showed {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for top two pair while Maal showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a pair of queens with a flush draw.

The river was a blank and no help to Maal. He was eliminated from the tournament in seventh place and will take home $17,215.

Yu Saves Best for Last

Ben Yu and Joseph McGowan took a raised flop of {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Yu had first action and checked it over to McGowan, who made a bet. Yu check-raised but was raised back by McGowan. Yu called to the {6-Spades} turn, where he checked and called another bet. The river fell {7-Diamonds}. Yu checked one more time, but tried another check-raise after a bet by McGowan. McGowan thought things over for about twenty seconds before folding.
