Kings No Good for Glantz

Matt Glantz made it 550 to go from middle position and was called by Marius Arnesen. The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{J-Clubs} and both players checked.

The turn brought the {2-Spades} and both players checked again. The river completed the board with the {8-Spades} and Glantz fired 1,000. Arnesen made the call.

Glantz tabled the {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}, but was bested by Arnesen's {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}. Glantz dropped to 21,700 and Arnesen moved up to 33,000.

Haxton's Full House Paid

Isaac Haxton was the only player to call a bet of 1,200 on a flop of {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. He called another 2,200 on the {4-Hearts} turn and 3,200 on the {7-Clubs} river. At showdown, his opponent turned up an ace, {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}, for aces and fours. Haxton rolled over {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a full house to collect the pot.

Chino Chipping Back Up

Chino Rheem opened to 300 and found two callers to see a {5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop fall and Rheem check the action.

With Rheem's apparent weakness, one player fired out 650 and the other made the call, only to have Rheem check-raise to 2,100. The preflop aggressor made the call to take the hand heads up to the turn with the dealer dropping the {4-Clubs}.

Rheem fired out 3,800 and was again smooth-called before the river landed the {2-Hearts}.

Rheem shuffled some chips and paused for a moment before firing out 7,800 to prompt an eventual fold from his opponent to collect the pot and move to 36,000 in chips.

Steicke Aggression

Facing a limp from middle position, David Steicke raised the button to 300 only to have his opponent in the small blind three-bet to 1,100.

The limper made the call, as did Steicke, to see a {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop fall.

The small blind checked, and the limper fired out 1,550 only to have Steicke bump it to 3,250.

The small blind passed, as did the preflop aggressor, to see Steicke collect the pot and move to over 32,000 in chips.

Wilt made the call tabling his {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} to best Glantz's {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

As Glantz slipped to 16,150, Wilt climbed over his starting stack to 33,200 in chips.

Set Fold for Seiver

Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

On a board reading {Q-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Spades} Scott Seiver fired out 3,000 only to have his lone opponent in the hand make it an even 8,000.

Seiver paused, and then made the call, as the {5-Diamonds} was produced on the river with Seiver checking the action only to be faced with a 7,000-chip bet.

Seiver went deep into the tank as the ESPN TV cameras rushed over to film the action.

A few more moments went by, before Seiver eventually folded his hand saying he had a set of nines while slipping to 20,300 in chips.

Perry Freeroll Doesn't Fall

With around 2,500 in the pot and the flop reading {2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{K-Spades}, Ralph Perry fired out 1,000 from the button only to be check-raised to 2,000 by his opponent.

Perry paused for a moment before making it 6,000 to with his opponent quickly calling as the {6-Spades} landed on the turn.

Perry's 8,000-chip bet was check-called as the dealer produced the {7-Spades} on the river.

After yet another check, Perry moved all in for 16,100 and was called.

Perry: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

Both players chopped the pot up, but Perry headed to break disgusted at his flush-draw freeroll as he moved back over his starting stack to around 33,000 in chips.

Mizrachi Stacks 'em Up

Just before the break, the ESPN cameras were rolling at the Orange Section feature table, where Players' Champion Michael Mizrachi was part of a three-way flop that he had raised to 500 pre-flop. Action checked to Mizrachi on a flop of {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}. He continued for 750, folding one player. The third player then check-raised to 2,025. Mizrachi called.

The board paired sevens on the turn, {7-Diamonds}. Mizrachi's opponent checked and called 2,025 on that street and another 6,000 on the {9-Spades} river. That's when Mizrachi turned over {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} to show down a full house, eights full of sevens. He's back to the starting stack of 30,000.
