Behbehani Busted

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,500 ante

Brandon Cantu raised to 12,000 from the hijack and was called by Phil Hellmuth from the cutoff. Salman Behbehani three-bet to 52,000 and Cantu moved all in. Hellmuth folded and the two were off to the draw.

Behbehani drew one card for his {8-}{6-}{4-}{2-} while Cantu stood pat with {9-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Behbehani squeezed his card out but eventually let out a "Daaaah!" and slammed another {2-} on the table, pairing his deuces.

Behbehani was eliminated in 19th place and Cantu is up to 280,000.

Mercier Eighty-Sixed

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,500 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Richard Ashby opened to 13,000, and Jason Mercier moved all in on a three-bet shove. Ashby called, and both men asked for one card.

Mercier: {9-}{5-}{4-}{2-}
Ashby: {8-}{4-}{3-}{2-}

Mercier pulled a {7-} from the deck, a good card to make a ninety-seven. Ashby drew better, though, yanking a {6-} to make an eighty-six and send Mercier off to the corridors.

Seed Planted

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,500 ante
Huck Seed - out
Huck Seed - out

Under the gun, Phil Hellmuth opened to 18,000, and he was called by both Huck Seed and Nick Schulman.

Hellmuth patted, and he checked. Seed took one card, and he shoved all in for about 80,000 total. Schulman also took one card, and he liked what he saw enough to make the call. Hellmuth folded, and Schulman showed {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}. It was good. For him, at least. But not so good for Huck Seed, eliminated in 17th place just a few spots shy of the money.

Dehkar-gone-i

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,500 ante

From under the gun, Joe Cassidy fired out a raise. Raymond Dehkarghani moved all in for 70,000 and Cassidy made the call. Both players stood pat and flipped up their hands:

Dehkarghani: {9-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}
Cassidy: {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}

And just like that Dehkarghani was sent home in 16th place, the victim of an eight-seven low. Cassidy is sitting pretty around 435,000.

No Hand-For-Hand; Everyone's in the Money

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,500 ante

Parris Holmes raised to 18,000, and Greg Raymer three-bet shoved. Holmes was the shortest stack in the room, and Raymer had calling chips to spare, announcing his intentions and standing pat. Holmes patted as well, and he was going to be eliminated.

Holmes showed {10-} {9-}, and that's all we saw. Raymer turned over a ninety-eight, and Holmes has left the building.

That's 15th place, and it came simultaneously with the previous elimination. That means we don't even have to bother with the pesky hand-for-hand play as our 14 survivors are now safely in the money.

Parker Doubles Through Raymer

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,500 ante

We caught up with the action to see Benjamin Parker three-bet to 50,000, only to have Greg Raymer announce that he was all in. Parker made the call and said he would stand pat.

"I guess my unbeatable hand is beat" said Raymer, deciding to draw one card and throwing away a ten face up.

Parker turned over {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} showing that Raymer made a good decision, but unfortunately for the Fossilman, he pulled the {K-Hearts}. Parker doubled up to about 210,000 while Raymer fell to 160,000.

Ship it to Schulman

Nick Schulman raised to 15,000 from under the gun and was called by Phil Hellmuth on the button and Steve Sung from the big blind. Each player drew one card.

Sun checked to Schulman who bet 41,000. Hellmuth got out of the way and Sung called only to see Schulman turn over the winning {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}.

Hellmuth Takes a Big Hit

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 1,500 ante

Brandon Cantu made it 15,000 to go from early position and was called by Phil Hellmuth from the hijack and David "Bakes" Baker from the small blind. Each player drew one card and the action was checked by both Bakes and Cantu.

Hellmuth fired out a bet of 52,000 and Bakes made the call. Cantu got out of the way and Bakes tabled {9-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{2-}. Hellmuth shipped his cards into the muck and and Baker scooped a pot that brought him up to 365,000. Hellmuth has fallen down to 80,000.

Parker Grabs Some From ElkY

From early position, Bertrand Grospellier raised to 11,000. Benjamin Parker made the call from the button.

ElkY stood pat while Parker drew one. ElkY checked to Parker who shot out a bet of 23,000. ElkY made the call but mucked after Parker tabled {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.
