"It Says Check"

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We just witnessed a drama-filled hand between Jimmy Tran, Olivier Busquet, and another player.

The player in the hijack raised to 5,000 and Busquet re-raised to 20,000 from the small blind. Jimmy Tran called the 20,000 from the big blind but then the initial raiser pushed all in for 38,000. Olivier wasted no time in declaring himself all in as well, but his stack totaled 110,000 meaning Jimmy Tran would have to commit most of his stack if he wanted to make the call.

Tran went into the tank, mumbling and looking at the other players chip stacks. Tran asked Busquet "Why you not call? Why you all in?" to which Busquet replied (with a smile on his face), "I can't call and let you call too!"

Tran's chip protector is a spinning dial that has a number of poker-related actions on it. Tran, obviously confused about what he should do, spun the little spinner and the other players all leaned in to see what it would say.

"It says check" Tran stated, eliciting laughter from his tablemates and the dealer. He spun it one more time and the dial landed on "raise." Tran slapped his hand onto the table in frustration and then tossed his cards into the muck.

Busquet casually flipped over his {a-Spades}{5-Spades} much to the shock of Tran. The all-in player was ahead with his {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

The ace-queen was good through the turn with the board reading {j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} but a devastating {5-Clubs} on the river gave Busquet a pair of fives and sent the player holding ace-queen to the rail.

After the hand Busquet's stack grew to 170,000. Jimmy Tran now has 140,000.

O'Brien Doubles In Quick Fashion

Dan O'Brien hadn't even taken his back pack off after returning from dinner break when he knocked out a player at his table with {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. He left the dinner break with 85,000 and the first time he sits back down at his seat after it, he has around 160,000. Good timing Mr. O'Brien.

Weisner Busts

Melanie Weisner
Melanie Weisner

The dinner break was kind to some and not so kind to others such as Melanie Weisner who busted in one of the first few hands after the break.

Weisner was all in preflop with {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} against the {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} of another player at the table. The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Weisner hit the rail.

"It's an Easy Game When You Get Aces."

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Tuan Le's table is practically leaning towards him under the weight of his chips. Facing a 5,200 open from under the gun, and another caller, he raised to 15,000. Both players folded and Le flashed pocket aces for the second time in three hands.

Le's table is wary of his raises and he continues to push the action at his table.

Lubczynski Playing Position

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Rafal Lubczynski and Trevor Hackworth built a 30,000 pot going to the flop of {6-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}. Hackworth bet 15,000 and Lubczynski called. The turn came {J-Spades} and Hackworth bet 14,000. Lubczynski moved all in after a minute or two of thinking, which sent Hackworth into the tank. Lubczynski's stack was counted down to 53,000 - something Hackworth didn't want to hear. Hackworth kicked his cards back to the dealer and Lubczynski is up to 147,000.

Ruberto Knocks Out Another

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Anthony Ruberto has amassed a stack playing aggressively and hitting hands. His latest elimination came with Ruberto under the gun and he open raised. The player in the cutoff moved all in and Ruberto called.

Showdown:
Ruberto: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Cutoff: {A-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}

Board: {3-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {7-Spades}

Despite pairing his queen, the player in the cutoff was eliminated with Ruberto making an ace high flush.
