Athanasios Polychronopoulos raised to 60,000 from under the gun and Matt Stout re-raised to 170,000 from middle position. Action folded around to Simon Charette who declared he was all in for a total of 505,000. Polychronopoulos folded and Stout called.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko raised to 85,000 from the hijack and Corey Burbick moved all in from the button. The blinds got out of the way and Timoshenko called.

Burbick was going to need some help to stay alive but the board ran out and he was eliminated just short of making the official final table.

Peter Ippolito raised to 90,000 from the hijack and Sven Heinecker re-raised to 205,000 from the button. Ippolito then moved all in and Heinecker snap-called. The table let out an audible gasp when the hands were revealed.

Heinecker was the one at risk but looked poised to double up. The flop came but then the dealer flipped over the turn card, the , and the table let out a collective groan. Heinecker would need an ace on the river to survive but the came instead and he was the first player eliminated from the final table.
