Raymer Fossilized

Jon Turner put out a bet and was only able to convince Greg Raymer in the small blind to join him for a hand preflop. Both players then opted to take two cards. Raymer then bet, and Turner raised enough to put Raymer all in. Raymer made the call.

Raymer then took one card, while Turner stood pat.

Raymer seemingly didn't like his draw as he chose to draw one again, whilst Turner continued to stand pat.

Turner showed {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-} for an eight low. Raymer couldn't counter as all he could produce was {Q-}{9-}{7-}{5-}{3-}, and was eliminated.

Mercier Still Climbing Higher

Jason Mercier is in a familiar position, with a huge chip lead, and he isn't done yet.

In this hand, Eli Elezra raised it up and Mercier called from the big blind. Elezra drew one, Mercier drew two and checked to Elezra. Elezra bet out and Mercier check-raised him with Elezra calling.

Mercier stood pat on the second draw and Elezra drew one. Mercier bet out with Elezra calling and again Mercier stood pat and Elezra drew one. Both players checked and Mercier showed {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-} for the win. He has moved up to 235,000 and Elezra has 82,000.

Sklansky Serves One Up

David Sklansky
David Sklansky

We managed to catch up to the action to find a growing pot between Scott Siever and David Sklansky. Players were on the first draw and both opted to take two cards. After their draw Seiver bet and was raised by Sklansky. Seiver made the call and then took one card while Sklansky stood pat.

It was here that Seiver check-called a bet from Sklansky. Seiver was clearly still confident that he could potentially win the hand and took one card. Sklansky again stood pat. The last round of betting came and Seiver checked and Sklansky bet. Seiver folded and Sklansky was awarded the pot.

Battle of the Blinds

Brant Hale in the small blind bet and was summarily raised by Justin Bonomo in the big blind. After Hale made the call he took one card and Bonomo took two.

Hale then bet and received a call. We had a repeat of action with Hale taking one card and his opponent Bonomo taking two. Hale bet again and Bonomo called. This time both players drew one card, but it was Hale who ended up check-calling a bet in the final round.

Bonomo showed {8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for an eight low, and Hale mucked.

Elezra Cripples Vitch

Jason Mercier raised it up under the gun and got calls from Eli Elezra and in the cutoff and Christopher Vitch on the button. All three players elected to draw two and Mericer bet out with calls from both Vitch and Elezra.

Mercier stood pat, Elezra drew one and Vitch drew two. Mercier again bet out and got calls from both players. Mercier stood pat again and Elezra and Vitch each drew one. Mercier checked the river, Elezra bet, Vitch called and Mercier folded. Elezra showed the wheel {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} Vitch tossed his hand away and was left with only 6,000.

"Trip Deuces"

We were able to catch up to the action to find Mercier drawing two and Elezra take one in the first draw round. It was then that Mercier check-raised Elezra.

Both players took one card after Elezra made the call. Mercier continued where he left off and bet again and Elezra called. Mercier stood pat and Eleazra took one. Mercier made his final bet and was called by Elezra.

Mercier delcared "trip deuces" and essentially mucked his cards. Elezra countered by turning over {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for the winning hand.

We Have a Sweat

With David Chiu all in and standing pat on the third draw Eli Elezra made the call showed {7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and had yet to look at his last card. Chiu held {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for a nine low. Elezra needed to squeeze out a four a six or an eight in order to give the knock-out blow. A {3-} was turned over and Elezra had paired up, Chiu allowed to double up.
