Badih Backs Into One

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 15,000 ante

Some three-way action at Table 336 involving Phil Collins, Philipp Gruissem, and Bounahra Badih .

Collins got things started with a raise to 275,000 from under the gun, then Gruissem reraised to 685,000 from middle position. It folded to Badih who pushed all in with the 715,000 he had left from the button, and the blinds got out. Collins also let go of his hand, but Gruissem called Badih's shove.

Gruissem: {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Badih: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The flop came {10-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and turn {6-Hearts}, and Badih was down to his last card. But the river brought the {6-Clubs}, putting a second pair on board and turning Gruissem's deuces to dust. Badih doubles to 1.66 million, while Gruissem now has 2.35 million.

One for Pateychuk

Andrey Pateychuk raised to 240,000 from middle position and received calls from Jerry Van Strydonck on the button and Greg Kaplan in the big blind. After the flop came down {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Kaplan checked, Pateychuk bet 420,000, Van Strydonck called, and Kaplan got out of the way.

The {7-Hearts} turn brought about checks from both players, leading to the {8-Spades} river. Pateychuk fired out a healthy 720,000, which prompted a fold from Van Strydonck.
