Nguyen Wins Double Through Devonshire

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

Anton Makievskyi raised to 700,000 on two consecutive hands (button and hijack), and earned the blinds and antes both times. On the next hand, Phil Collins opened for 725,000 from under the gun, and that worked the same trick, adding a few chips to his stack.

Then it was Bryan Devonshire's turn to raise -- 700,000 from the cutoff -- but instead of folds all around, his raise was met with an all-in reraise by Khoa Nguyen from the button for 3.86 million. It folded back around and Devonshire called.

Devonshire: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Nguyen: {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The flop came {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Nguyen remained ahead. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} and Nguyen just had one card left to fade. The river brought the {10-Clubs}, and Nguyen doubles to about 8.2 million. Devonshire now has about 3.5 million.

Bounahra Adds Some More from Heinz

Badih Bounahra raised to 775,000 from the hijack seat and Pius Heinz called from the big blind to see the flop come down {J-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Heinz checked and Bounahra bet 1.1 million. Heinz made the call.

The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and Heinz checked. Bounahra fired 2.5 million and Heinz gave it up.

Gianetting Chips

Samuel Holden min-raised to 600,000 on the button, Matt Giannetti defended his big, and the dealer fanned {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Giannetti quickly checked, Holden continued for 800,000, and Giannetti called.

Both players checked the {9-Spades} on the turn, and the river brought the {3-Diamonds}. Giannetti led for 1.2 million, sending Holden deep into the tank. He sat quietly, assessing the situation, and after a little over a minute he folded.

Staszko's Reraise Button Stuck

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante
Martin Staszko
Martin Staszko

First into the pot from the cutoff seat, Anton Makievskyi raised to 700,000, and Martin Staszko reraised to 1.675 right next door in position. When it folded back around to Makievskyi, he took his time pondering before sliding out another raise, making it an even 4 million to go. Staszko shoved right back over the top for about 16 million that he had behind. Makievskyi didn't waste any time folding, and Staszko is nipping at his heels now, less than 2 million chips behind -- 22 million to 23.8 million.

Three-Bet from O'Dea

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 40,000 ante

Anton Makievskyi raised to 700,000 from under the gun, and it folded around to Eoghan O'Dea in the small blind. O'Dea checked his cards, then announced a reraise to 2.1 million. Phil Collins quickly tossed his cards away from the big blind. After about a half-minute of thought Makievskyi let his hand go as well, and the pot went O'Dea's way.

O'Dea pushes up around 36 million there, while Makievskyi has about 23 million.

Holden Four-Bet Shoves, Bounahra Finds a Fold

Samuel Holden min-raised to 600,000 from the hijack seat, Badih Bounahra three-bet to 1.7 million from the small blind, and the action folded back to Holden. He tanked, then four-bet shoved for 10.21 million. Bounahra sat back in his chair with his left hand covering his mouth while the tournament director counted Holden's stack.

Once the amount was confirmed, Bounahra re-sweated his cards, looked into the stands, then sweated them once more. He asked for the count again, the tournament director gave it to him, and he started counting his own stack. Bounahra was tossing and turning in his swirly chair like it was 4 a.m. and he couldn't sleep, then finally stood up, putting his hands on his hips.

After less than about a minute of standing, Bounahra sat back down and unhappily mucked his hand.
