Shawn Patrick Green has kept a low profile so far today, steadily climbing up the chip ladder. We caught up with him a few moments ago to find him betting out 700 from late position preflop. Action folded around to the player in the big blind who moved all in for about 5,000. Green made the call and found out he was behind.
Green:
Big Blind:
A flop of fell out of the deck which gave Green an open ended straight draw. A turn was no help, and it was left to the river to see if Green would be stacking more chips. The landed on the river and Green was left with ace high which was not enough to claim the pot.
We have just heard the numbers over the loud speaker here at the Amazon room. We have a prizepool over 329,400, with 81 players walking away with money. The first payout will be $820, and the grand prize that everyone has their eye on is the first place payout of $70,859. We will be sure to post all of the numbers when we get them all.
Action folded all the way around to the small blind, who open shoved. George Ivanov was in the big blind, and he quickly looked him up when he peaked down at his cards. The two tabled their cards, and Ivanov was in great shape.
Ivanov:
Opponent:
The board ran out safely for Ivanov, coming , and Ivanov collected the pot, putting him at nearly 40,000.
We managed to catch up to the action just in time to see Haiyan Tian make it 1,125 preflop from middle position. A player in late position moved all in for about 6,000 and was summarily called by Tian who exlaimed "everytime I raise everyone goes all in".
Tian:
Opponent:
With a on the flop Tian was going to need running clubs or a ten in order to deliver the knock out blow. Alas a for fourth street and a river brought no such luck to Tian.
Karina Jett had been riding a short stack for quite some time now, and she was just eliminated. We didn't catch the hand but we caught up with Karina afterwards who walked us through it.
Jett held and shoved all in for 4,000. She was called by her opponent who showed down .
The board ran out and Karina didn't improve, sending her to the rail.
We don't exactly know what the action was preflop, but once we saw a whole table standing and staring at the board we came a running to see what was going on.
On a flop two players were all in and called by former chip leader James Routos. Routos held for a pair of kings. One of his opponents tabled for a flush draw, and the final player in the hand showed for a set of eights.
The set of eights were ahead for now, but there was still a turn and a river to see. With a touching down on fourth street the set of eights looked to be in good shape. The river assured that the set of eights were indeed the best hand and the massive 30,000 chip pot was awarded to the winner.
With over 3,000 in the pot, and the board reading Ray Pulford bet 2,500 from middle position. The played in the highjack tanked, and eventually folded, and the player in the small blind called off his last 1,600.
Pulford:
Oponnent:
The turn gave Pulford the lead, and the river didn't improve his opponent. Pulford, who works as a dealer at the Wynn and Rio, is now above 30,000.
