Selbst Sinks A Bit

We caught the action on a very dangerous looking board of {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Vanessa Selbst and Jason Senti were in the pot with one other player, and Senti checked to that player, who fired out a bet of 650. Selbst made the call in late position, and Senti released his hand. The board got even scarier when the {8-Clubs} hit the river, and after about 15 seconds of thought, the player checked to Selbst. She looked at her chips for a bit, and thought for 15 seconds herself, before letting out a huge sigh, looking to the ceiling, and checking herself. Her opponent showed {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for tens full, and she mucked, dropping her to 5200.

We came upon this hand at the turn with a little over 3,000 in the pot. The board showed {7-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} and Negreanu moved all in for around 3,000. James Dempsey, directly to his left, took a few good moments to consider his action. He eventually folded and Negreanu flashed {K-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}.

Selbst Getting Short

Last we checked on Vanessa Selbst, she was sitting comfortably at 5,200 in chips. However, we just walked by her table, and saw that on a board of {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Spades}, she had just put in her last 200, and was called by one opponent.

Selbst: {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-}{q-}{2-}{7-}

Selbst had trip jacks that improved to a full house when the river came the {9-Clubs}. Selbst collected the pot, but she only doubled up to 2,100. We will be keeping tabs on her and her short stack.
